The Castle Inn in Cheshire East

Came here for a Sunday roast after a walk up the Cloud. The food was fantastic (the cauliflower cheese was a group favourite) and the staff were very kind and attentive. There were issues with the card reader on the day but they rang us in advance so we could get money out from a cash machine which we were very grateful for. Would come back in a heartbeat.

Excellent food, very pleasant staff. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

The food was absolutely fantastic and the staff were wonderful. Lovely area to sit outside out the back.

Just happened to pop in after a walk up the Floyd. Nice beer garden round the back where I enjoyed a good sandwich 😋

The steak and ale pies we had today had lovely contents but the pastry was inedible. We waited for over an hour on a quiet Thursday lunchtime and all 4 of us left sad after having excellent experiences in the past. We were offered apologies but nothing else and will not return.

Had a good meal here in the past but reviewing main meals that we had this time, simple fish and chips and scampi and chips.The chips were a combination of burnt and under cooked and soggy/ greasy on the same plate! The fish was literally 10mm thick and the batter was thin and greasy, the scampi was ok but a tiny portion.We were guests in a party of 12 so we "sucked it up" at the time rather than complain and appear ungrateful in front of the person paying, although at the end a lot of the food at the table went back uneaten so I guess a mixed experience overall.

Friendly local pub serving excellent home cooked and tasty main courses with 3 real ales. We enjoyed attentive service and prompt delivery.Good portion size and definitely fulfilling as a lunchtime stop before we walked it off at the nearby National Trust Biddulph Grange gardens afterwards.One pub we’ll return to again on a future visit.

Had an absolutely delicious meal today. The steak and ale pie was very tasty. The chips were perfect! Onion rings... Amazing! Huge too! Service was with a smile and very friendly. We felt very welcome. Defo go again and take friends. Highly recommended 👍😁

Had a fantastic meal here today with my mum and brother. Sophie and the other waitresses looked after us and made us feel welcome. Food was brilliant. We will be back soon!
