Went to the Church Inn for lunch to see what all the fuss was about. Great surroundings, lovely food, attentive service, and drinks at sensible prices. What's not to like - will definitely be back

Lovely traditional pub set in a wonderful locationWe only had drinks after a walk with the dog on this occasion but the food being served looked very good and we will be back againWe bagged a table by the real fire which was very much welcome after a chilly walk with the dog

Visited for lunch on a sunny day.One of the best reviewed and written about pubs in the area, or even the Northwest. The pub itself looks beyond stunning. Really cosy inside and feels like everything in the place is as old as the pub (few hundred years).Really good fish & chips, as expected.Blue cheese burger really had some decent blue cheese on it instead of the cheap sauce you get at a lot of places.Brownie was fantastic and served with some nice sorbet, homemade macaroon, and some cool garnishes so not just a typical pub brownie.Definitely a cut about and well worth taking the time to visit.

Absolutely beautiful corky and romantic bar & delicious little bites. It’s a bright shiny day afternoon, two ladies welcome us kind and respectful, all types of drinks from Ales to strong liquors, very diverse menu, prices are reasonable, we had two little bites dishes (ox tale with soft puffy horseradish and bon bon crab) they were full of flavor, good sizes, parking available😉 I hope bless them again with my presence.

Good pint of ale here in a genuine historic Cheshire pub. It maintains a traditional atmosphere without turning into a theme pub. Dogs allowed in the bar area. If you want food I think you will need to book.

What a gem of a cozy pub. Food was excellent, really the highest quality and quite a decent price as well. I particularly liked the apple crumble soufflé, very original idea.

Wow! And I don’t say that lightly…your life will be slightly less sparkly if you don’t visit and experience the utter joy that the Church Inn is. I’ve remembered why they call the industry hospitality by visiting this beautiful haven of delicious food, cozy surroundings and people who genuinely care that their guests have an exceptional time. Thank you to Pip, Daniel Jacob, Tod the gastronomic wizard and Matthew for hosting us today. It was sublime.

Don't be fooled by it's gastro pub appearance, I honestly could have spent the evening in an ostentatious fine dining venue and left less inspired. The atmosphere in this gorgeous country pub will make you feel like you time travelled, and while the menu is very traditional, the food is far from predictable. 10/10 would recommend and well worth a journey.

I rarely bother with reviews these days but this place is truly special. I'd go as far as it's the best pub in Cheshire. Fantastic food and atmosphere. Can't wait to come back soon!PS: The sticky toffee souffle was inspired - so light!
