While the atmosphere was friendly, the place was very clean and the staff were extremely kind that’s all I can give points for.We ordered a carbonara, nachos with cheese and chips with cheese to share a family. The drinks were fine but the food was unfortunately not.The carbonara was watery. I’d call it bland but there were so many herbs thrown on the top it had this weird taste. The bacon tasted soapy and I think there was pesto in it which gave it an even weirder taste. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a frozen meal and they threw the herbs on top.The nachos were also bland and tasted cheap for what we bought them for. I’m pretty sure the cheese on top was a cheese from a can because it was cold and very runny. The only thing that was warm on the plate was the guacamole which is a weird thing to have warm lol.The chips were the only decently good thing but I can’t say it was great. If we hadn’t ordered the cheese they’d probably have been fine but we didn’t know that. The cheese was again cold and spread throughout the entire dish so the chips were soggy and stuck together. I pick one up and I get the whole lot, I know I’m a pig but I’m not that much of a pig lol.I unfortunately wouldn’t come back again. Did meet and really cool dog in there though so there’s that.Miss you Meg <33

My partner held a birthday get together for me at the crown and we had a fab time. The food was really nice and everyone commented on it and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. It’s a great place to have a get together and lovely local pub. Thanks to the team.

My first time in here with some retired work mates 4 of us in total. Dave the assistant manager made us very welcome thanks Dave. We all had the same daytime special priced meal 'Hunters Chicken' which I can strongly recommend. The chicken was lovely and moist not dry at all and the chips were not greasy so overall a really enjoyable meal. The daytime special priced menu was quite extensive too. The 4 of us will return again.

We called here at early lunchtime on Monday. The pub was quiet as expected at that time. Staff were very friendly and it felt very covid secure. We had the pate and toast and olives and feta with balsamic oil and warm bread to start. Followed by nachos and chilli with guacamole sour cream and salsa and a steak and mushroom pie with mash peas and gravy. The portions were a good size and very tasty and the staff were attentive. Food was a reasonable price with specials available on food and drinks throughout the week. Will definitely go back another time.

Excellent experience. We stayed for two nights in a campervan. The staff were brilliant. The food was great (vegan option) and the Manchester craft larger was good too. All in all a great weekend.

Very impressed with The Crown. Came for an unexpected visit after The Little Manor pub in Thelwall was full and couldn't serve us.The Crown has a very pleasant modern layout inside which you wouldn't expect seeing it from the outside. The food menu was a little bit limited on choice, but that was fine as the food we had was lovely. The staff are all very pleasant and very welcoming even though we had never been here before. And most important and a huge bonus to The Crown they welcome dogs. This will definitely be on my list of regular places to visit.
