In area over the weekend for work. A different selection of meals from the usual and a wide choice of bears. Good service and free WiFi. They had a pub quiz in one room and the other was quiet which is where I did some prep. Thanks.

Never disappoints! Lovely burgers , lovely food in overall, big portions, friendly staff also when I asked for a rice (which is not in a menu) there was no problem to prepare portion of rice, which is great 👍. Very nice enviroment, very clean and tidy. Also I would say restaurant this quality is very well priced considering service and portions.Well done

The young men behind the bar were excellent friendly and helpful. 6 of us came for a meal the lady who served us was very cold and very impatient all night we felt we were being rushed.we arrived at 6 so should of been plenty of time for us to relax and enjoy our meal. The young ladies who served our food were friendly but no one checked if we were happy with our food which when it came out was not hot we ate most of it but were not happy when we told them how we felt only one of us got a free glass of wine. We felt that a cook not a chef cooked our food. ( there is a big difference in the two ) myself being an ex landlady I watched all the mistakes in the eating area and the young staff not sorting out any issues. You have a lovely place but it needs sorting out.

Nine ladies met up for lunch. The food was delicious and the service was brilliant. Both Adele and Debbie were really friendly and made us very welcome but at the same time very professional. Thank you Fred for the super delicious apple crumble. Everyone of us enjoyed our meals. Thank you, we will be back .

There was no sea bass which was the main reason 2 of us came the burger was dry overcooked and bland even the bacon had very little taste. The waitress has difficulty using what I hope was the new ipad ordering system and alp in all I was not impressed

My inlaws booked a table for 8.15pm for 8 of us for my daughters 24th birthday. A young girl eventually came to take a drinks order. She stood at the end of the table so we all had to shout down what we wanted. It was 9.20 by the time the food came. My daughter ordered the Linguine which came comprising of a bowl of plain pasta, a couple of chunks of brocoli, a few chunks of pepper and a sprinkling of cheese on the top. No sauce or dressing just plain pasta. Hence to say she couldn't eat it. Two of us had the steak at a whopping £16 each. When it came the steak was tiny and no salad as it stated in the menu. We were not given any steak knives either. No one came to take another drinks order so we had to wave someone down. A lady with short hair came and kept clearing the table the second we finished eating. We were not asked if we'd like dessert menus and the lay looked shocked when we asked for them. She brought them out then 10 minutes later we see her with her coat on going home. My mother in law went up to the bar and asked the young lad behind the bar if we could order desserts and he said sorry the kitchen closes at 10pm. You literally get better food and service in Whetherspoons. Never again!!!

We've been visiting The Duke of Gloucester for a number of years now and it's definitely become our go to for a quick, easy meal. The Duke of Gloucester is convenientky situated on a small estate on the outskirts of Crewe which features a Travel Lodge hotel, a small Co-op supermarket, a take away and a petrol station. Across the road is a newly opened Aldi Supermarket. The venue is large and themed around The Duke of Gloucester steam train which was made at the nearby Crewe Works. There are 3 distinct areas, a function room to the right as you enter the pub, a bar which has seating and the restaurant towards the back. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of room between tables.Eating out with food intolerances can often be disappointing, however, the staff at The Duke of Gloucester are very knowledgeable about their dishes and are happy to talk to the kitchen to make changes to make a dish safe. The recently started to provide a decent allergens menu which makes it much easier to decide what to have. The menu features pub classics like fish and chips, steaks and lasagna. They offer a very wide range of options for those Gluten Free (fish and chips being an option!) and a decent choice for vegatarians. We've always been happy with our visits and even more so with recent menu changes! Thoroughly recommend if you have dietary requirements.

Went for a Sunday roast just after new year with the family, veg was dry & the portion was quite small, 2 roasties 1 pigs in blanket 1 brocoli, when the waiter asked how the meals were and we raised the issue, she said it was a lie as the veg is usually nice, why bother asking if you're gonna dismiss the statement? Probably best going elsewhere or to the carvery half a mile up the road!2 stars given as the place is well presented and clean!

An excellent evening with the family. Staff were brilliant. Table staff and bar staff very efficient and attentive with a great scense of humour. Beer was excellent . The food was first class. Without doubt the best batteted fish I have in years. Last but not least.. the quality of the coffee served here is second to none. Professionally made and presented. An all round enjoyable experience.
