Restaurant is situated in the most beautiful urban scenery in whole Cheshire. Food has decent standard, they also have great local bitter ale named after the village. Staff is friendly, atmosphere absolutely breathtaking. This is real England.Bit pricy tho, but it's understandable, nothing good come for free, does it..Only big minus is parking. Loads of cars destroy whole quiet atmosphere in village, most of the (big) cars are restaurant guests. Would be great go with western European standards and slowly move cars from city/village centers to designated parking spaces around/near village. There are big fields all around. Village consist of 5 streets, so people would walk no more than 4 minutes. (This is only suggestion from an architect's perspective)Apart from that, The George & Dragons is an amazing place and I would definitely recommend it to everyone I know

Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Was busy but the service was still quick and friendly. Had the fish and chips...this is the large and they weren't lying! Food was excellent. Proper country pub atmosphere and located in one of the prettiest villages in Cheshire. Highly recommended!

Lovely village pub. Quite big inside. Lots of food choices - what we had was yum. Walls covered in beatiful plates and hunting memorabilia.

Absolutely stunning village location steeped with history. The food we had homemade steak ale & mushroom pie with chips and a selection of root vegetables has got to be the most tasty pie I've ever eaten 😋 the pub is idyllic inside with a roaring fire much needed on a cold day, staff really friendly. I would highly recommend a visit if your ever in the area. And the village itself is pleasant to walk around.

Booked for 2 people. Sunday 1pm only doing large meals (no sandwiches). Taken to our table, drink order taken and meals ordered by another member of staff right behind them. Food came quite quickly. It was well presented and hot. But before we had finished our meal someone came over to tell us we had to leave the table by 2pm for the next people. No time to finish meal without hurrying and no dessert. All in all, we felt we were a heard of cattle. We won't be back for a weekend (especially Sunday) meal again.

Terrific Saturday evening meal at the George and Dragon. Was a little disappointed that the T-Bone special wasn't available despite it being on the menu, and my Cote de Boeuf was a little fatty. However the steak was cooked superbly, the chips were delicious and my partners steak pie was fabulous. Will definitely be going back again.

Great pub with selection of food. I had the full fish and chips and it was definitely massive. The and chips were cooked to perfection. The only negative experience I had was at the bar. I was standing there waiting to be served, the lady serving at the time ignored me or didnt see me and as soon as a group of 4 people came to the bar , she went and serve them straight away.

A fantastic pub in one of the UK's most beautiful villages. The George & Dragon Hotel is a fantastically well kept traditional establishment with great food and drink served by friendly staff.
