The inside of the Horseshoe Inn looks far better than the outside, so don't be put off.The food is very nice with fresh vegetables, although the pie was a little too salty for my taste.Price wise, a few more £ than we normally like to pay for early dinner. When we asked for more gravy, we were told there would be an extra charge, which we found odd.Guinness and Doombar on draft which are great.

Mothers day disaster! 4 hours total sitting time. 1.5 hours to even be served starters. 2 starving kids. Owner claimed 2 chefs hadn't turned up for work. Although mothers day was dissapointing, I would go back again. Food was lovely, the staff and owner worked flat out to appease everyone and we did get a free round of drinks for the inconvenience. Nice chilled place with a children's play area.

A large group of us called in here today and the manager told us they were 4 staff down. We had to wait a little while for drinks but no one minded and the food was worth the wait. Lovely food and presented beautifully.

Lovely place to stop and have a drink or something to eat. There's a play are for the kids and an outside side for the doggies to have a drink also.

We came here at the weekend for our anniversary had a fillet steak and my partner had the lamb shankWe both had starters which werent too badBut my £31 fillet steak was diabolical ended up leaving half of it, it was that chewy i couldn't even cut most of it with my knife would definitely not recommend anyone to come here

Largely disappointing experience, wouldn't mind so much but the prices of food is quite high for what you get. We sat at a table by the window which was extremely wobbly, I kept feeling like it was going to collapse every time I rested my arm on it.The pies and burgers our party ordered were very nice, but the chips were pretty poor. They were soggy oven chips, no crisp to them or taste. Not really what you expect when you are paying £17. But as I said, the burgers were good, very nice and decent meat. The pie was also delicious. There was only 1 waitress when we visited and while it wasn't busy she seemed rushed off her feet and flustered. Once she brought our meals she never returned to the table again to ask how it was or if we wanted any more drinks.I don't think I will be going again or recommending it to anyone.

Just went here for drinks, so can't comment on the food. But smelt great. The children thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor play area. Lots of room for them to run off a little steam and had a small area for toddlers too.EDIT: We've since been back for food and the food was very nice. Good range of beers as well to wash it down with.

We went here on short notice on a Tuesday evening - relatively quiet and super cosy! Log fire was lit, looking like a proper British pub. We're both vegetarians so we weren't expecting much choice, which there isn't, but the veggie chilli that they had OMG it was delicious! Such a generous portion size, and sooo tasty. Not many staff, so service is relaxed, but very friendly and it's a fabulous place - we'll be back!

Great meal in a very nice pub. Usual pub meals on offer. Really tasty Steak and Ale pie. Recommends the cremey garlic mushrooms for a starter and fudge cake for desert. There was a hair in the fudge cake but it was promptly changed.Staff were all very nice and welcoming too.Would recommend visiting. Cost is on the higher side for pub meals but worth the expense.
