The Oakwood in Cheshire East

Lovely pub with a fairly large beer garden. All staff are friendly and the pizzas are delicious!

Great pub. Very dog friendly and good scampi & chips.

The atmosphere and outside space was lovely. The meals were tasty but very small portions. The large fish and chips and scampi and chips came with 9 chips each. We did query whether we had been served the small portion in error but were reassured that the portion was correct. Thank goodness we didn't order the small portion!!

It didn't look open on the Tuesday lunchtime we visited, but we saw some lights on and went in. It was a beautiful day outside, but the interior was really quite dark and cold. My mum even went back out to get her coat from the car! There was one couple dining but no-one else to be seen! After a few minutes, we were attended to by a pleasant young man and we had the choice of tables.The menu was quite poor for gluten free dishes, with the usual suspects - ham & eggs, steak, a vegetarian jungle curry and mushroom risotto being pretty much all that was on offer. Mum doesn't like ham or steak, red curry is too hot for her, so she had the only remaining option, mushroom risotto. In fairness it was well presented and tasty.I opted for a burger with sweet potato fries which, again, was nicely presented and tasty.It's a shame really. With a bit more light and warmth (it was far warmer outside) and a greater range of dishes for those with food intolerances, it could be a good find, but we won't be returning unfortunately unless some changes are made.

Nice decor and plenty of tables inside and out. Nice location with plenty of nice cars going past outside.I personally enjoyed my chicken burger, however, my partner found her steak burger to be quite dry/chewy.

Really disappointed. Small portions but food was tasty enough. The service let it down. Pub very quiet yet we had to go to the bar for extra drinks as staff ignoring us. The bar staff were not friendly- looked grumpy and bored! One guy had the audacity to complain his guiness wasn't nice- we saw the bar staff talking about him behind the scene which wasn't pleasant. Won't rush back.

Fantastic Sunday lunch!Just been today, 3 of us enjoyed the meal, Beef roast, chicken roast and sea bass…Great service, great atmosphere and very comfortable surroundings…See you again soon ;-)

Just had a fabulous Sunday lunch at the Oakwood. Fab food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommended

We had a great time, the staff very friendly the beer and wine excellent. The group that were playing very good.
