Went for the Sunday lunch and this was lovely, choice of two meat and they did let us do half and half so had beef and turkey, both very nice. Children's menu - Ordered the fish fingers @ £8 which is expensive compared to other pubs for a kids meal. Don't get me wrong they were homemade fish fingers and tasty but a waste for a nearly 3 year old, too fancy just would be better serving something like a Birds Eye Fish Finger and charging less. Kids one scoop ice-cream £1.70. So in all children's meal £9.70 and other establishments do £4.95 for kids meal with ice-cream included so a lot more expensive. Would return but please review kids menu. Friendly pub and good staff.

Food is the best I've ever had, the chef deserves so much credit! Well above pub standards! Warm welcome and friendly staff. Very clean! The only thing I would say is please bring back the steak and ale pie to the main menu!

The food here is INCREDIBLE! My partner gave me the job of finding a pub that did nice beer, good food, had a friendly atmosphere AND was dog friendly for tea tonight. The Rising Sun checked every box. The seafood chowder was absolutely amazing and honestly, I would happily have that as a main instead of just a starter. We both had the pie of the day, which was minted lamb pie. The meat melted in your mouth and the gravy was like nectar. I was so excited when they did me a little doggy bag of what I couldn't manage. We've left feeling so full and have vowed that we will definitely be back again! Couldn't have asked for more, the food was great, the staff were really really friendly and my partner got the really good beer that he wanted! Two (and a half - if you count the dog) very happy customers!

We found this pub entirely by accident, the food is amazing and the staff are lovely! They were really accommodating with our baby too! The best pub roast we have had in ages! Will definitely be back!

Lovely country pub ,in a nice peaceful surrounding Staff very welcoming, Very nice and smiley & friendly. Ordered 2 Roast dinners very nice, would av been better with real mash ,didnt realise until we ate it there was no yorkshire pudding, other than that got no complaints cleared the plate. Certainly would go again.

Just finished a beautiful meal. Proper home cooked food and very reasonable prices. Service was excellent and none of us could fault any part of the meal, even the 2 kids who can be very picky. Particularly enjoyed the home made strawberry shortcake cheesecake and mississippi mud pie. Thanks for a great meal, and we will be back.

Nice pub atmosphere, lots of small rooms. Well run, car park is small but plenty of off street. Some ales on, great food, not too pricey. Try the Sunday dinner.

Only bad thing for me was sat at the bottom of the pun near the kitchen was unbearably hot and didn't look like a window could be opened. Not losing stars over it as he experience made up for it.. Food was amazing staff friendly and helpful and the pub itself is very nice. Would recommend
