I have been here several times and always enjoyed the experience. The staff are mostly friendly and attentive (shout out to Leah whose service I could not fault). The atmosphere is relaxed. Some of the food is really nice- the Korean BBQ chicken strips for example are delicious. The steak and ale pie was very filling but quite unimpressive (tasted no different to a supermarket version). Still, I'd go back and try something else from the menu. There's plenty of choice.

Went for Sunday lunch with the family. Our table wasn't ready at the time we booked it for which meant half the party had to stand around a table with us to wait. The food was terrible and way overpriced for what it was. The beef was tasteless, the roast potatoes were from frozen, the veg a bit sad, the Yorkshire pudding crispy. Nothing about this meal was good. I would get better quality at half the price in weatherspoons. I don't have roast pots from frozen at home, too pay for someone to give me that is an insult. 2 of our servers were lovely, the other was rude. Came to the table demanding we tell him who wants water because they don't have enough glasses. No, I'm really sorry but we are running low on glasses, could you please let me know who would like water. As well as frozen roast pots the chips were frozen. Unbelievable price for what was a very, very, very poor meal.

Table for 9 , Sunday lunch. The table was not ready , had to stand and wait 20 minutes. No apologies. Once seated, no one took our drinks orders after giving out the menus. Our main courses came out over a period of ten minutes. The food was very poor. The roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding tasted like frozen ones, the vegetables were over cooked and the meat was tasteless. We had to ask three times for extra gravy as there was so little on the plates. We asked for water and after while the man behind the bar came over and angrily did he'd run out of glasses so demanded to know which of us really wanted water. After we answered, he snapped back "so, only two, not nine " and flounced off. The pub was also so cold that we had to keep our jackets and coats on . There was a general air of chaos, the place was full but woefully understaffed. I have eaten many Sunday lunches in and around Nantwich and The Rising Sun is the worst by a long measure.

Called in last week for a spot of lunch with a friend. The pub was surprisingly busy for midweek but we were shown to a nice table in the restaurant. Our waitress Tracey was brilliant and couldn’t have been any more help. The service was so friendly and warm and the food was well presented and delicious as usual. Well be back soon

Fantastic atmosphere, tasty food and friendly staff. We had a lovely evening. Cheaper than the Beefeater which is 2 minutes up the road.

Just done Sunday lunch here today. A very good traditional Sunday dinner for me and daughter, seafood medley for my wife and gourmet burger for my son. Delicious ! Really big yorkshires and lashings of gravy……well recommended and not too heavy on the wallet. Nice people and good service.. thanks !

We had a lovely evening meal. Again here. We called a few weeks ago it was great. Meal, service and staff. Lauren is a top waitress, always checking you are ok e.t.c. great bar staff and fantastic chef there. Warm atmosphere, all in all great experience

We had four roast dinners and they were superb. The meat was really thick and plentiful, big fluffy Yorkshire puddings, rosemary roast potatoes, honeyed carrots. I’d recommend asking for extra gravy for the table
