Worst pint of lager I've ever had. Shame, nice pub

Came for tea around 6pm, got our drinks, and the coke was flat from the bottom of the bottle. Asked for another one and proceeded to then argue with the owner whether it was flat or not. He was then shouting at the bar staff because they slightly over poured on a pint. Our food came in instalments. One member not even getting his after we finished ours, they hadn’t even started theirs yet and it was getting on to 7pm. Asked for a refund for the meal and drink and was refused for the drink, until finally getting the refund for the drink as well and a new drink with no charge. We got sworn at and shouted at which wasn’t appreciated. Spoke to the staff and they said that there was a lot of stress going on behind the scenes which is completely understandable but you don’t speak to customers like this. Someone asked if the music could be turned down, which the owner then proceeded to go into the kitchen, left the door open and started punching the wall. You could tell that the staff has had very minimal training which is not to their fault at all. They were lovely and apologetic for the inconvenience and manner we were treated. As a new pub owner, he needs to have some sort of training or course for how to talk to people. Food was decent, can’t fault the food, but we were told after we ordered that we can’t order food until half 7 because they had a table of 8 coming in soon, the pub was very empty and this shouldn’t have been the case if we were here first, if that was the case they shouldn’t have let us order in the first place. If the staff read this, know your worth!

Rude owner, treats staff like they are dirt on his shoe. Failed to refund fully after not serving my food… at all. Poor waitress were stressed and visually annoyed at management. Id give it a miss if your thinking of visiting here

Food was disappointing and drinks were not very well made… the pub used to be amazing

After a relaxing Sunday afternoon stroll round Tittesworth reservoir my wife and I popped into the knot Inn on our way home for a bite to eat. The Knot Inn is a hidden gem in Rushton Spencer, the food, drinks, atmosphere and service were all excellent and prices were very good too. We'll be returning for sure, highly recommended.

Had a spectacular chicken burger, as did my wife. We took our dog and they even gave her some cooked chicken too! Much appreciated.Went to meet some friends from an Amateur Radio club for an open day there, but will go again. Thank you!

Lovely stay over with motor home, lovely friendly welcome by the owners and staff. Enjoyable pint earlier in the day then an amazing two course meal later in the evening. The food presentation was as equally as amazing as the taste. Would highly recommend. Awesome thankyou

This is a great pub in a great location with great food! This pub was just reopened by new owners about two weeks ago after being closed for about 7 months.New owners have worked in the hospitality field for a long time and know how to run a restaurant and pub!Frankly, best fish and chips that we had the entire trip. The father is a lifetime cook from other restaurants and he knows how to run a show.Very inviting, friendly hosts and in a terrific setting next to the old train station and near trails. Beautifully appointed and designed front rooms and nice restrooms. Good value and people. Please support them, they are off "The beaten track" and I think the local pub on the main road and the town may see them as unwelcome competition but Oliver and family deliver a quality product! We did not go to the pub on the main road so can't compare - nothing against them.
