Beautiful and very friendly pub in a gorgeous village. We stopped as part of a long journey up the M6 and you would never know you were close to the motorway as it feels so idyllic. Delicious food and lovely staff.

Went today for the first time and it certainly won’t be the last. There were two roaring fires and the Inn had a lovely relaxed, friendly atmosphere.The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent (and with proper chips 👍). Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

Went for the first time a couple of weeks ago - moved into the area during Covid restrictions - and very impressed. Friendly staff, low beams and hot coal fires, plus a choice of cask ales. Also, the menu choice was extensive and very reasonably priced - and the meals were excellent. Recommended

****BEST PUB ROAST AWARD WINNER (from me)***I'm always on the search for a decent roast, but I have ridiculously high standards and unfortunately most pub roasts fit into the 'meh' category for me. I had the mixed turkey and beef today and it was AMAZING. The best roast I've had that u didn't make myself. That's saying a lot. Gravy was thick and tasty, meat was perfect and decent portions. The Yorkshire felt a little like an afterthought but I can forgive that because the roast was so good. Can't recommend this highly enough.

If you look for an old English style pub...you are at the right place. Low sailings.., wooden beams, log fire...and flagstones on the floor. A well equipped bar, with lots of spirits...nice food...and mingle with the locals.....that's what you get.

Been to this pub lots of times over the years and it never ceases to amaze me. Not had food but it looked good from what I saw. Unchanged interior.

Amazing pub which pops up out of nowhere. Good friendly service and banter and food is good old fashion English grub. Get in there.
