Mothers day meal, have to say it was really really nice, many thanks to the whole team, the food was absolutely fantastic and the service was great too. No negatives, great. Right off the m6 at junction 19, great location.

Arrived here on a Sunday evening after a long day 6th March 2022 at 7pm for a nice meal and possible stay. Only to find it shut. Yet on Google maps and their website it says stops serving food at 9pm. Which was definitely not the case. Whilst finding somewhere else to go. At least ten cars had also found it closed. If you are going to close for whatever reason at least update your web page. Will not attempt to return at a later date and also advise others not to attempt to go either. Very unprofessional for what is meant to be a hotel right next to the M6.

Fantastic pub grub, 5 star service, a friendly landlord. We stopped off for dinner on our travels just off the M6 and so glad we did, fantastic value and service with a smile. Thank you!

Popped in for some lunch on the way back from The Mere. Excellent food and excellent service. Didn’t have booking and manager managed to fit us in. Would definitely return

MAKE SURE IF YOU STAY HERE OR HAVE STAYED HERE YOU CHECK YOUR BANK/CREDIT CARD STATEMENTS!!!!I am utterly disappointed and disgusted in the treatment we have since received after staying at this establishment! When booking a room we was asked to provide credit card information, fair enough this is normal. We arrived and was asked to pay, again this is normal. Thinking nothing of it as since we’ve paid they surely shouldn’t charge us on the credit card! Well how wrong we was!! The following statement we then found we was charged for the room on the credit card. We emailed pub with no response, rang up and spoke to the manager who said they’d sort it, they did not, again more emails and more ignoring! We have now had to resort into claiming the second charge back from the credit card company and the manager is REFUSING! to pay us back!! We have proof the payments were taken twice and they are still refusing!I wonder how many times they have done this and how many times they have gotten away with it! Thieving scum bags!

We arrived at the pub after a lovely day at Tatton Park walking. We were a party of 8, 5 adults and 3 children. The bar man who was also the waiter was delightful. Maybe we should have known better when the car park was empty and so was the pub. The food arrived after a 40 minute wait. What a disappointment, the roast dinner consisted of 1 piece of dried beef, frozen Yorkshire pudding, frozen mashed potatoes, three pieces of carrots which were grey, limp and tasteless. Cold broccoli, and tasteless parsnips. The ‘ Braised Staek ‘ was inedible, even our little dog wouldn’t eat it . My son in law ordered steak which had a hidden surprise of long hair. The food was awful just awful. We were told we had to pay £99.00 which was ridiculous considering every plate was full. We asked to speak to the chef….. Doug who blatantly referred to us as ‘ people like you’ was rude and obnoxious and definitely not a chef. Shame on you Windmill Inn. Not a pub to go to for food, disgraceful customer service and appalling food. We have now read reviews and also found out that Doug took all the staffs tips and wages. How is this place still open?

We visited here as a pit stop on our travels, just off the motorway it’s a very convenient spot. I must admit we were reluctant after seeing some of the reviews but in my opinion don’t listen and try for yourself, you won’t be disappointed. We stopped for a bite to eat and the food was excellent. Hot and tasty and all served by the lovely Lucy who I may add brighten up my day with her beaming smile and manners. The food was to a great standard and prices were fair too. We will be visiting again on our return.Delightful pub with a great atmosphere

Helped us out last minute after another location cancelled. Brilliant service from all the staff members (Ben was particularly helpful and attentive) and the room was a great size for the price. A lovely stay.

We were attending a wedding in Knutsford so we booked the windmill for an overnight stay. The whole place is very clean, the bar area, entrance and corridors and the bedrooms. The bedroom we had was very spacious with a much larger than average en-suite bathroom and plenty of wardrobe space and hangers. The bed was very comfortable and we had tea & coffee making facilities (plus biscuits) in the room.We had a great nights sleep and the room was surprisingly quiet, we did not hear any noise from the road at all.Breakfast was great, well presented and very tasty. Finally the owner and all the staff that we encountered were very friendly and welcoming. They all went above and beyond to make our experience a very positive one.We would not hesitate to stay here again, and intend to return soon. We would certainly recommend to all.
