Decided to have a meal as we were passing. ,but never again!! We ordered fish and chips, and asked for lightly battered fish. It was the worse meal we have ever had . The batter was thick and floppy and the fish was dry and overcooked and the chips were double/tripled cook !. A staff member asked us how our meal was and we told her the fish overcooked and she just walked away ? The place needs a massive clean as it was dirty and unkempt and that's probably why it was empty !? We won't be going again ever !

Great place to stay. We were made to feel so welcome. The staff were amazing as was the food. Wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely recommend a stay here.

Stayed one night whilst attending a wedding across the road. Had Food and few pints in the pub excellent, thoroughly enjoyed. Room was OK bed comfy but shower was a bit grimey , needs regrouting. Although, it was a good warm shower. Bit noisy with road traffic but no reall issue.Breakfast could be better I prefer a pot of fresh tea or coffee not a ready made flask, but was still OK. Staff behind bar young girl with long hair, was very nice pleasant and helpful. I would happily stay again in same room. 3.5 stars out of 5, that's not bad.

Had steak pie which was good. Vegetables slightly overcooked, chips were fine. Washed down with a nice beer.

We stayed last weekend for one night to break a journey south and it was the perfect spot! The staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming, our dinners in the pub and full English breakfasts were all delicious, and the hotel is in a peaceful country setting, surrounded by fields. Our room was warm, cosy and comfortable. We hope to be back!

Fantastic pub. From the moment I walked in I felt welcomed from the staff and very much enjoyed the say for the weekend. Very much recommend to stay if you are attending sand Hole Oak barn for a function.
