Touted as the best fish and chips in Macclesfield, which put high expectations on our visit.Personally, it was not as great as the moniker suggests. The owner was friendly and welcoming, but presumed we were tourists rather than living 100m away.The food was good and appropriately priced, but not spectacular. The chips were the right kind of greasy and the same went for the fish.If it is local to you and suits your tastes, then I highly recommend the place. However, I have had better fish and chips in the area in the last year (outside Altrincham FC if you're wondering).

Fabulous fish and chips and very welcoming owners. Even gave us an extra piece of fish because of a small fillet !! Highly recommended.

Decent chippy. Proprietor is well known and friendly. Not been for years but back in Macc for the day so tried it. It was good but not excellent, I suspect another day it would be better though.

Owner is a really nice guy. That scores. However after years of us. Last Thursday I stood in the queue at 7.15pm I was asked if I wanted fish, ordered 2. The lady in front ordered 1. After a 15 minute wait both of us was told No Fish. By then other chip chops had closed. His nonchalant attitude has cost him the cost of his next BMW. Enjoy mate.

Ordered chippy from here earlier this evening after years of custom. Usually very good fish and chips but tonight the fish was awful very dry and tasteless. We made sure we went early as we knew Good Friday would be a busy one but unfortunately tonight our meal was awful, dry tasteless fish and dried out chips. Shame as it seems recently Waters Green Fish bar has gone down hill.May have to try elsewhere in future.
