Abbeywood Gardens Restaurant in Cheshire West and Chester

What a beautiful place. A tribute to the gardeners and volunteers who tend them. The plants all looked so healthy.. Like walking through a series of rooms. First time visit. I shall certainly tell others to visit. The eating facilities were catered for year round visits. Excellent home made cakes. Pleasant staff. Charming florist and gift shop. Amazing plants for sale.

Gardens are lovely and well kept. Enjoyed walking around and pleasant seating areas also. It was about 2.15 when we went to the cafe and the staff were rather rude and abrupt. Rudely told no room, not to expect food, and should have booked by one server then another said if we were happy to sit outside there'd be no problem. Ordered hot drinks and scones with jam and cream. Drinks arrived promptly but no sign of the scones...after about 10 minutes and virtually finished drinks we went and asked to be told they'd forgotten about them. Server then brought them out to us but no further apologies. What should have been a pleasant afternoon visit was marred by the rudeness and poor customer attitude of the staff hence the low star rating.

Very clean and tidy. Excellent service and catered very well for a diabetic. Definitely highly recommend a visit.

A gorgeous gardens, lots of places to sit and enjoy the space. A great variety of plants too. We got married here last year and the staff are so kind and friendly. Love the cafe food always vegetarian and vegan options available.

Wow what a find! This place is a credit to the owners. They squeezed us in for a wedding venue viewing on Mother's Day despite being fully booked. Had a great tour of the venue and the coffee at the end was very tasty. Will definitely be back to properly try the cafe and it's up there on our venue list!

Enjoyed a Full English Breakfast to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. The food was delicious and a walk in the gardens afterwards was very relaxing.

This is such a great place. There are three sides. The restaurant, formal gardens, and the other part consisting of forest walks, chickens, children's play area and amazing flower beds which are part of the florestry business.The exotic plants in the first garden are an amazing display, the flower boarders around the fish filled ponds beautiful and picturesque. The long lawn and house look like a box of chocolates.The flower gardens and prairie planting were masses of colour in July and great to wander through.The food served in the restaurant (we booked ahead of time) was of a high quality, served by friendly staff and the goats cheese, beetroot and pesto quiche was stunning. The accompaniments were also very tasty, new potatoes, coleslaw etc. Highly recommended and a bet a wedding here would be magical.

We got married at Abbeywood on 10th July 2021 and the service was exceptional, from the point we first looked around to our wedding day and breakfast the next morning. Harry, Matthew and Lauren went above and beyond to provide an excellent and reassuring service whilst we planned the wedding predominantly during COVID - having an understanding supplier made a huge difference to easing our nerves. We received so many positive comments from friends and family saying that it was the best wedding they'd been to (!) and that the grounds, food and staff were wonderful. We would highly recommend Abbeywood as a wedding ceremony and reception venue. We also visited for afternoon tea with the bridesmaids prior to the wedding and found the cafe great!

We can not put into words how thankful we are to Abbeywood for making our wedding day so incredible and memorable. Every single one of the team were extremely helpful and all played a huge part in our day. Our day wouldn't have been the same anywhere else.Thank you Jessica for planning our day back in 2019 with us, it was like having our own personal wedding planner organise everything for us and Matt for helping us finalise everything for our day making sure everything was all in place and sorted. Matt and Jessica were always there to talk to and emailed us very clear plans for our day.We met the wonderful Becky the night before our wedding day, who helped us set up for the day and also ran our wedding day for us. She is absolutely amazing at her job and has such a lovely, positive energy which made me feel so at ease and excited for our day. You can tell how much she loves her job and I absolutely loved that she was there on our day helping run the day so seamlessly. I will always remember Becky on our day.We want to say a huge thank you to the lovely night manager and her team who were absolutely amazing!!! They were all so friendly, helpful and always kept the drinks coming! 😁Thank you to Lauren and Peter who organised the most amazing wedding breakfast food for us including vegan options which is one of the many reasons we chose Abbeywood for our wedding. We also enjoyed the BEST vegan breakfast the next morning too!!! Peter also sorted the playlists for our wedding which I'm really grateful for.Thank you to the lovely owner, Harry, for always being so wonderful to talk to. Harry made me feel much calmer about our day when I was feeling stressed about postponing, he even emailed me back late at night reassuring me that everything would be fine and there were never any issues postponing our date. Harry runs such a lovely family owned business and we can't wait to return for our anniversary and for other occasions in the future, I'm already wanting to plan my 30th at Abbeywood 😛.The gardens at Abbeywood and the different buildings are the most beautiful around by far, all of our guests were saying how beautiful the venue was and the wedding photos looked great with the stunning views and beautiful flowers everywhere. The gardeners and cleaners keep everything looking absolutely stunning.Can't say enough good things about this venue and team. Thank you all so so much. See you soon X

Absolutely beautiful gardens at a very reasonable cost and suitable for those who aren't able to walk too far. It is a very peaceful setting with great views and further walks for the more adventurous. The cafe served some lovely dishes and the fish cakes were lovely! Gluten free options were readily available, including two choices of cake! Mum said shed have been really pleased with the cake if she had made it herself, which is high praise in her book!
