Cafe itself is in a lovely new building. The food is perfectly fine. Staff weren't entirely clear what they were offering and the food seemed slightly over priced for what it was, but "did the job".Strangely the fusli pasta is vegetarian, it just doesn't list it as such on the menu. The forest is lovely to go for a walk around, with loads of paths of different lengths. Highly recommend a walk in the woods. Just not a place to go for just to visit the cafe.

Highly recommended. Delicious food and drinks in comfortable surroundings indoor and outdoor with a covered area. A great way to start and finish your walks around this amazing place. Staff are warm and friendly.

I'd definitely recommend stopping here for coffee and cake or an ice-cream. They have a great selection of cakes available too. Personally I've found the meals a little dissappointing. Love that it's dog friendly and they even make dog treats and have dog ice-cream tho

Nice cafe, but badly signed. Shows menu outside the café for hot food but no menu inside and no direction to where to que.Food was basic, if your a vegan don't bother. My dad got the vegan burger, it was just a sliced aubergine with oil and seasoning, literally just a sliced aubergine, crazy..For the beef burger and vegan burger, didn't get any sauce on the buns, any lettuce etc so had to use mayo sachet and salad to make my own burger since it was just a bun an patte.Delamere forest doesn't have much sights at all and most the areas are just cut down trees.Good distance walks or bike rides but nothing else.

Reasonably big restaurant, servis well organised and it’s not too overpriced….. coffee and cakes 🍰 are better priced then main courses.

Great for walking. Cafe and toilets spacious and the is a nice outdoor seating area with large wooden roof/shelter to provide protection from the rain or sun. The car parking fees seemed steep - ÂŁ3 one hour, ÂŁ5 two hours, ÂŁ8 anything over 2 hours; but we were parked on a proper car park, not wading through muddy grass...

Local supermarket are allowed access to the park to deliver groceries, just, give the gate code on ordering. Its in your information email, it saves loading up the cars.NO takeaways will deliver to the park although staff advised they did. The Retreat cafe /shop /bar /reception building is open till 8pm, but regarding takeaway delivery orders, the kitchen closes earlier however, this is not displayed anywhere including on the Television in your cabin where other information has been added. This is essential info if you've had a drink, as walking is not an option to collect a takeaway or if you have young children sleeping. The itinerary states washing up liquid but fails to mention its a very very mini size so bring it! Other than the above a great time was had by all.A very relaxing peaceful, forget about work break 👌we hope to return again soon. Our cabin was comfortable clean and spacious no log fire was required with the underfloor heating, staff were happy to raise the temperature in the hot tub on request when doing the daily checks but, more powerful showers would have made it perfect. The premium WiFi is essential although expensive £60 for 5 days...

Newly built, clean and spacious cafe with a large team of young and keen staff, if a little inexperienced. Struggles to cope at busy times with a long queue to order, only to be told to join another long queue for your hot drinks. "Fruit scone" was rather dry and had 1 raisin, so must have been given the wrong one! Reasonably priced although tight on portion size - tea for 1 came in a half filled little pot, which made 1 surprisingly small cup of tea. Yet good atmosphere and tables were efficiently cleared and cleaned.

Fab day out again. Been here many times with our five year old and friends, they love it. So much to explore and also the Gruffalo trail which had recently had new bits added. Huge cafe with a great selection of cakes, coffee, ice cream etc. Go ape is also on site which is great with older kids. Good place for building log dens and playing hide and seek. You can spend hours on the trails or wondering off them making your way.

Loved it! 3 walking routes available, we started on the shortest, got mixed up and then ended up on the longest. One is 1.9 miles another 2.1 and the finally 3.9miles as a loop. It is colour coded to prevent this happening but we were a bit thick and went from green to red but it made a lovely walk as we weren't in a rush. Very pleasant walking trails around the lake with so many tiny frogs bouncing around on the paths so do watch your footing walking about. They are about the size of a 5p so some good eye sight is needed or else you will be taking dead frogs home in the treds of your boots.Nice green areas, great for a casual walk or biking, and as you can see from the pictures, good views and large walking areas. Cafe on site, reasonable pricing and tastes amazing. Free toilets and certainly wheelchair friendly. Great for dog walkers as the area is so large you really can spend the day here and venture as far as you wish around the area. Parking was good, there's 3 or 4 car parks available so if you are meeting with some one make sure you know where before hand.** like we didn't make that mistake....yes another one**One of the parking sites we visited was huge and not bad pricing to be honest and to help I have attached attached picture for thee to see. Happy venturing!!
