Duttons in Cheshire West and Chester

Turned up without a booking but they squeezed us in despite the fact that they were busy. Super food, great menu, great selection of beers and a really solid wine list. Service was excellent, staff attentive, friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely breakfast. The only things wrong to our taste was the bacon sightly overdone and my partner felt his was deep fat fried along with the hash brown .. The lady serving was excellent. Great portion sizes and overall tasty and good quality. Happy to return next time in Chester .

There is a really nice atmosphere here, as soon as we walked in we were welcomed by a friendly staff member. We came for a large work booking and all the food came out on time and from what everyone has told me, their food was delicious; as was mine! I'll certainly be returning for lunch or a romantic evening meal.

Been coming here, for meals and drinks, for many, many years. Apparently now, as per man on front of house reception it is bookings only, no walk ins! This seems a crazy business model when you are turning people away and yet have numerous empty tables. Not only have you lost the money from our non visit(5 of us) today but also the chance of any future business from us. It was a Saturday afternoon but quiet.

Great spot, great food, and great staff. Nipped in on Wednesday night without a booking after just looking for anywhere in Chester city centre. It's in a great spot with loads of character between the main city centre drag and the cathedral, and has been really well done out inside. Staff were really friendly and sorted us quickly. Very modern pub menu that offers traditional classics alongside what I'd call fusion dishes. My steak was cooked perfectly, and my wife had a number of the sides as a tapas style main. All really good portions, but also all well cooked, and well thought out with the fusion style stuff.

Double burger was delicious as was the bread & butter pudding. Very attentive staff.

If the food wasn't so nice I would have rated it a 2 based on service alone. Felt totally ignored waited a ridiculous amount of time for a server and was constantly flagging them done. We even saw one table leave without paying because they waited with there coats on and card on the table for so so long. They then asked a waiter could they pay and they said they would return with the card machine and never did. Obviously not the right thing to do by them but can understand as had the same frustrations. I walked up to the bar to pay after waiting too long.

Stumbled across this place whilst trying to find somewhere for dinner without a booking on a Saturday night. Good value menu at 3 courses for £19 including steak option.Pâté starter was tasty but could have done with another slice of toast. Gluten free option available on the bread.Steak, fries and peppercorn sauce main was a good size and steak was cooked nicely.Dessert option of rocky road sundae appeared to be missing any ice cream, but the brownie and marshmallows were good!Cocktails were nice. Recommend the after midnight martini!

Food was hit and miss.Small plates not on small plates so needed a 2nd table for their offer?Don't take home the spring rolls they will stink the place out.Service was good even fixing our wobbly table and allowing us to change tables away from the door.Weren't allowed to have Eton mess as it was on the cheaper menu?I left most of the dessert and I love desserts 🍨 🥧

A very nice place in the middle of city. Well behaved staff, good ambiance and tasty food. We had a lot of fun and time was well Spent. The platters were tasty and drinks were great.
