This post 2 months ago is misleading! I used to play here regularly and went for a walk last week along the sandstone trail. You have to walk through the course and I was horrified to find the course totally overgrown!! Spoke to a local who said the course has been shut for a year!!!

Played today. Course was In immaculate state. Fairways have recently been cut carrying your ball an extra 30 yards. Greens are the best I've ever seen. Super fast. Like putting on glass. money well spent

Could be a really good course, views and layout is really nice. The conditions however are terrible.Bunkers either too much sand or there's treess growing in them. Rabbit holes in them too. Tee boxes are bare. Grass isn't even picked up when mowed. And the greens, so poorly maintained.Would be great if it got the attention and investment - and a clubhouse.

Start by saying I played here 5 years ago, great condition, great greens that were a real challenge. Now though...No clubhouseNo toiletsCourse hasn't seen water in years, no sprinkler system.Barely any ground staffNo sand in bunkersHas a lovely setting this course, natural undulations but it's being starved of investment and I doubt it will be around in 2 years unless that changes. What a shame

I come here to walk the dog during lockdown as I generally avoid golf courses when people are playing. I'm not a golfer either but I was really impressed with this beautiful course. I'm not in a position to comment on the state of the greens a nd fairways but they looked fantastic to me. The views around the course are stunning.

As I beginner to Golf I enjoyed the course. The holes are great and the views are nice.Even as a beginner though I noticed that the greens need to be improved.

Good course, challenging due to it being on the side of a hill. I do think more money could be put back in to the course though and even some bins in place.

I am a former member here and have heavily criticised this course. I played a few weeks ago and have to say really enjoyed and improvements are there to be seen. Yes there is still work to do, the tee boxes are very poor and the greens although improved have work to do. The fairways are outstanding and the pace of play is generally very good. I hope the improvements continue and Paul the owner doesn't allow this to slip. If this is maintained this can and should be one of the best in cheshire. Lot of work to go but the location and layout is unrivalled.

Huge amount of work been done on the course over lockdown to improve tee boxes and greens. Course is set in stunning scenery that makes for a good technical challenge with variety in shots needing to be hit. Greens are coming on nicely but not perfect (yet!)Won’t find better views and challenging course tee to green. Great value at <£20pp. You will always play more to play other local courses without the scenery and interest of the course. Once the clubhouse is back open and the greens have been rolled a bit more will be a standout course once again.

I've never seen a "golf course" in such poor condition. I've more grass on my garden than there is on these so called greens. How you supposed to putt through on that? The place has been ruined. Such a shame.
