George's Fish & Chip Shop in Cheshire West and Chester

Never had any issues really besides how expensive it is for small portions, but the other day I was eating and felt something hard which I though was a bone (can deal with that am not squirmish) then I removed from mouth to see it was a staple! It’s still confusing me now as it was literally in the sausage meat. Could be the manufacturer of the sausages or whatever but still weird and dangerous.

I used to love this place but recently I have had the egg fried rice from here on a couple of occasions and have found stuck pieces of rice at the bottom of the dish which looks like it has been over done in the microwave, such a shame.

Great choice, always tastes great. Really friendly staff. App, phone or walk-in ordering.

As always the best take away this side of town. Fast,efficient and friendly. Lovely owners, lovely staff and always made to feel appreciated.

As always I find it a bit hit or miss with George's but tonight they got it just right 😉Nice chunky chips with a light crisp to the outside and soft fluffy inside served with a large fresh piece of fish coated in a delicate yet crunchy batter all topped off with a pot of spicy curry sauce.... delicious 😋I think the secret to a good George's is collection in place of a home delivery 😀

Chinese chicken curry tasted more like gravy than curry and chicken a little grisley. Rice was ok. Chips standard fare.

Great place, with good food. Friendly staff, a great varied choice too, chinese traditional fish and chips and chicken and donna kebabs. Reasonably priced too.

Terrific fish and chip shop that also serves Chinese meals. It's been in Blacon, Chester since 1987 and is renowned for good quality and large portions. Their cod is perfect and a portion of chips will feed two people. They have an app to order for collection or delivery and you can build up loyalty points towards free food. Great service and the place is spotless.

I usually really love this place but the quality has gone down. The last two times ive been the chips haven't been great. They don't taste good, they just seem to be bad quality and i can only describe the texture to seem undercooked even though the chips are clearly cooked. The chips are also kinda black in places for some reason. A lot the chips are hard too not soft or fluffy like their normal standards. I'm disappointed I'm hoping they just switched suppliers and will switch back once they get a few complaints. The fish cake is still really good along with the curry sauce!
