Michael Caines at Abode in Cheshire West and Chester

Got upgraded to larger room on arrival the room was very disappointing, small TV, broken toilet seat and it was like a sweat box in there as the air con was insufficient! Please be aware if you use any of the items on a ‘Tray’ (mini bar as they state) there is no price list and you will be charged without your consent and they just take it off your card after you leave!!Very poor standards, this is the third time staying and i was very disappointed will not be going back!!

Hotel was nice and clean, then it all went down hill when me and my girlfriend got are breakfast shocking first they messed up with the coffees twice, I asked for really well done meat and the beacon cameNearly raw a good vet would bring it back to life !! And very over priced

Rooms nice and clean. Service needs improvement. Restaurant on 5th got meals wrong and service was slow. Venue itself is lovey and location is great. With a little training this could be a very good hotel.

Very poor. Wedding anniversary booking. Zero acknowledgment from staff or via room. Overcooked main and burnt pudding in the restaurant. Naf room 28” tele in a large room with no style and small bed. General low quality throughput plus road noise and most of the hotel is actually curb side. Lots of things to get right, uninspired atmosphere

Expectations were high but the meal was extremely disappointing. On reflection it was one of the worse meals we have ever had. My wife reconded the fish pie had about a teaspoon of fish, basically it was a sauce. My braised beef was a tasteless glutenous lump of poor quality meat. We made comments to the staff at the time but no compensation was offered.

Moved three times at checkin to be eventually be given the room we actually paid for to be told by the manger we had been upgraded! Beware of her, not sure she is inept or just lied to try and save face, but check you are getting what you paid for. Staff and chef saved the day, all great otherwise would have been a 1star

Fantastic hotel....location,cleanliness and very efficient staff . Lovely bar at the top of the building giving views over Chester Racecourse. Not cheep but well worth it to treat yourself.

Secure limited space parking. Spacious twin rooms with mini bar. Very comfortable bed. Very good service. Tasty but not very big breakfast. In general to recommend.

Stayed November 2021. Clean room, very good breakfast and helpful staff. No complaints. £10 for 24hrs underground parking is fair too.

Lovely hotel, fantastic room spotlessly clean. Friendly helpful staff. Very good breakfast as well. Had to wait 40 minutes to check in due to it still being cleaned because of people checking out late after Chester races. We were given complimentary drinks from the bar because of our wait which was nice. Would definitely visit again.
