Excellent food, polite and friendly and welcoming staff.

·

Big portions of tasty food with service that was friendly and attentive.

Wish I'd found this place sooner as the nearest Chinese Takeaway on Just Eat etc. are some distance from the South side of the city centre (by the Racecourse) and charge a fortune for delivery. Food was delicious and staff very friendly. Delivery is very reasonable too. Would recommend 👍👍👍

DO NOT COME HERE!They were explicitly rude to me, but they were explicitly rude to a customer waiting on their friends who were running late.It was horrifying to watch the staff berate the customer.

Absolutely awful food. I had read the reviews on here and received recommendations for the Sleepy Panda was looking so forward to it.It was a total disappointment all the meals tasted the same flavour. When I order Szechuan I don’t expect it to be brown and taste like gravy. The chicken was awful too very spongy. The services wasn’t much better either. I will not be returning again.

I am so gutted that we had an awful take away meal from the new Sleepy Panda in Chester here last weekend (previously The Summer Palace). The prawn crackers, crispy duck pancakes and noodles were okay but the chicken satay was so bad it made me feel physically sick just looking at the sauce (See photos) It tasted like cold curry sauce and had a nasty jellied texture to it. I struggled to find and taste of peanut in the satay chicken dish. The sweet and sour chicken lacked the flavour in the chicken. My husband was disappointed with his egg fried rice - he said it was bland. The ribs for starter were a very small portion and with not a lot of meat!In my opinion they need to pay attention to food flavouring more and start making their own satay sauce or upgrade (possibly?) the bought in sauce...

Figured I would try here since the change over and a recommendation by a friend. It's decorated very well inside with friendly staff and would be a good restaurant for a meal but as a take-away I would have to say it's too expensive for what you get at £9 for a meal. I chose sweet and sour chicken with fried frice since I try that everywhere; The sauce was more yellow than the red some establishments make, just a hint of fruityness rather than overpowering, with fresh pineapple, peppers etc. The amount of chicken however was very small in comparison to the rice and other ingredients considering how much you pay. Still a tasty meal but I would rate other local takeaways higher due to value for money. For £6 more you can visit one of the two buffets in the city for multiple courses including desert if you were dining in, the same price as here for lunch times on weekdays.
