Homely, rustic pub with wood beams and bookshelves plus a big garden, for British pub food and ales.

Lovely spacious grounds with a children’s playground area. They could do with some swings for the older children. At present they are only for toddlers. But the children made do with standing inside the swings. Not ideal but the rest of the equipment was good; a climbing wall, swinging ropes and balance beams, with plenty of grass to run about in.I’ve eaten here many times and the food is usually excellent. Today the fish was over cooked and oily (fortunately the children weren’t too bothered, just the adults!). Everything else was lovely, as usual; delicious beef sandwiches and breaded chicken.Wait on staff were very friendly. The teepee in the garden is lovely. Even now with restrictions being raised it’s nice to have the option for outside dining.

Although it was a cold and wet afternoon when we went we received a lovely warm welcome and seated near the log burning fire. The food was excellent, the service was very good, knowledgeable staff and courteous.Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and we will be coming back. A plus for us is that my wife who has MS and in a wheelchair was accommodated without any fuss and so enjoyed the experience too.

Amazing food and great service. I went for dinner with my family yesterday (Tuesday 5th of April) for dinner and really enjoyed the whole experience. The food was fantastic and the service from Milly was even better. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

First time we have been, although living just 3 miles last 10 years. A Monday evening so not too busy. Had a lovely meal from a wide choice. Nicely cooked and presented. Very pleasant beamed dining area. Would go again.

Nice traditional pub with food..Excellent staff who are both efficient and friendly and the whole place seems clean and tidy.Lost one star because the food was generally good for our group, but for those who ordered the fish and chips (v. popular) the fish was very over cooked making the batter a dark brown and hard. .
