The Boathouse in Cheshire West and Chester

Used the restaurant, it was very busy due to the horse racing at the Chester racecourse, the staff were very hard working and helpful, the location is great as it looks across the river and walking distance from the city centre. The food is ok and when there was an issue with our order it was rectified without any fuss. I recommend that during busy times a table is booked in advance.

Had a very enjoyable coffee sitting on the deck by River Dee at the Boathouse. Views on s pleasant day are stunning. Service was very helpful and decor impressive. Giving 4* as I cannot comment on food which we didn't have.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my partner for a holiday in and around Chester.First of all, the staff here were very polite when we arrived (early) and sat us down for a drink while we waited for the check in time to arrive. The drinks and food menu looked good although we unfortunately didn't find it selves eating here but the atmosphere of the pub/restaurant was lovely and the outside seating area overlooking the river was closed for refurbishment but I can imagine the views would be beautiful.We brought a car here and the added bonus of free parking to hotel visitors was a welcomed bonus.The room was nice and cozy and was cleaned daily by the staff, they even organised items we had left around neatly including folding pyjamas which I thought was a nice touch.If I had to nitpick. The room we were in had quite old windows which I can imagine being drafty in the winter however staying in spring/summer this offered a welcome breeze into the room as it was hot when we stayed. Additionally there is a smoke alarm on the roof with a bright clean flashing light which was a bit annoying when you're trying to sleep. Apart from this, it was a lovely, well decorated room which felt very secure. The bathroom looked recently redone and the shower was very powerful.As for the location, it's only a stones throw away from the center and around 20 minutes drive from attractions such as Chester Zoo.Overall, a great place to stay, highly recommend and im sure we will be staying here again one day!

Great food (lunch menu is superb value for money!). Staff were really friendly, too. Cannot fault and highly recommend!

Very comfortable room, huge bed,great bathroom with a powerful shower. The restaurant and bar offers a great selection of drinks and the food was excellent. The breakfast selection was superb. The staff were friendly and always helpful, we will definitely return for another stay soon.

Really Great location next to the river. Lovely bar with roaring fire. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Good choice of food and tasty dishes. Great for a special treat.

Just spent one night at this amazing place, had a beautiful 3 course meal, everything was so tasty & cooked to perfection. The staff were all so lovley at both diner & breakfast.Although we sat inside the outside of this venue is so beautiful with it's little beach hut booths to it's wonderful view & an amazing outdoor fire pit table.The rooms were a great size & lovely & warm, spotlessly clean.Would definitely recommend & will definitely be coming back.

A lovely place for a drink, the food looked really nice too. There were some reasonably priced bar snack on the menu which is a great option to have. Definitely recommend a visit.

Lovely setting, we all went for the set menu. Good value for money food was delicious, the staff was very friendly. Well recommend it.

Went here after we went the Christmas markets. Food was fab surroundings was amazing open fires Christmas lights very cosy. Little cabins for your own private meet ups. overlooking the river. Staff very attentive. Would definitely go back. It’s great in the summer too sitting on the outside deck watching the boats go past
