Nice range of beers. Friendly helpful staff who made us very welcome. Benches/tables a little tight so my dad bod did feel a little stuffed in 🤦🏼♂️

Excellent service and surprisingly quiet. Me and my brother stopped by after running the Chester 10k for a few cheeky pints of Thirst Quencher and some Welsh Rarebit.Very tasty!Lovely pub!

What a room! First time I've ever been in a pub with original tapestries on the walls! Absolutely magnificent! The Beer was to die for too I had a pint of Old Empire and it had the best head I've seen on a beer for many years. I didn't eat there but I overheard conversations of how nice the food was. Spitting Feathers should be very proud of themselves 😁

A weekend spent in Chester & had 3 visits.I can say this place is stunning the beer the food and the architecture inside.A little unassuming from the outside up a steep flight of stairs, but once inside oh boy does it deliver. The range of ales from the Spitting Feathers Brewery is exquisite, the pies and chunky chips we had for lunch would satisfy most & all in a building built in 1620.A special mention for the staff who are very welcoming.Altogether a fantastic pub 5*

Having walked past this place numerous times I decided to finally enter and oh boy was I impressed. The buildings architecture is awesome. It has an old tavern feel something from the 1800s. The selection of locally brewed alcoholic beverages was great and very reasonably priced. I suggest the Odd Ball which was a smooth pale ale! Highly recommend any locals or travellers to visit.

Great beer, lovely food and a good atmosphere. Staff are great and chatty. Beer comes from its own brewery which is local, so the beer is nice and fresh. They have plenty of other beers apart from their own which are always good and well priced. All in all a great pub in a 17th century building. Love it.

Great local beers on tap with a quirky and delicious twist to traditional food. I had the pigeon and bacon pie. A fantastic pies with a unique and wonderful flavour. Buttered cabbage with garlic and hazelnuts was amazing. Well worth the walk up the steps to eat from the kitchen of these friendly folks.

From the outside I think the exterior is slightly off putting as the entrance is up several steps & you cannot see inside! However please make the effort!, The interior is fantastic, and somewhat unexpected! Amazing beer range, really friendly helpful staff & a great menu. The steak pie was delicious & washed down by several pints of spitting feathers special cask beer Great range of keg beers as well and full bar if beer not your thing! Just a great pub!!

The Brewery Tap is set in a medieval hall, up a short flight of stairs at the bottom end of Lower Bridge Street. Gamul House is a beautiful building inside. I had three halves of different Spitting Feathers beers; all excellent beers; and a very good portion of haddock and chips. Highly recommended; wonderful place, great beer and very good food.
