Have to say that the food here is great ( discounting the fact that I received a different pie to the one ordered!!!!) What I did receive was very tasty indeed. We called in after a day spent working and I went first of all to the bar to complete the obligatory parking meter process. Had a great meal and was happy to recommend as I had noticed a couple of less than perfect reviews.New owners and a whole host of new staff take time to bed in and I have never felt the need to complain.Spent £70 including drinks for 2 which is value for money - that was until this morning when i received a delightful Parking Charge Notice which adds £100 to the bill I had put the reg in as i we were in my wifes car and i had to ask her what the number was!!!My recommendation dont visit the pub unless you walk there as it would appear that you have no redress to the almighty parking company and no one willing to helpNeedless to say I wont visit again even thoug i only live down the road in Lostock Green will go elsewhere!!!!

Great traditional style pub in a beautiful village setting and also serves really tasty food, bonus! Good service with friendly staff. Prawns are amazing as is the grilled bass, good home cooked pies. No complaints here definitely be paying another visit, already been here 3 times and it will be our go to place for great quality pub grub.

Don't bother! We were an off the cuff walk in, straight away you could tell we weren't welcome. Told before we'd even sat down we'd need to leave by 6, no problem btw as I have worked in hospitality for 7 years so I know what the turn over is like on an evening service, but the way it was put across was definitely like we were an inconvenience. We were then waiting 25 minutes to be served for a drink, only for the staff to continue walking past ignoring us while others were served straight away.On the fifth time of being walked past we had no choice but to leave otherwise we'd have been rushing our food.Absolutely shocking service and won't be coming back!

Had never visited the area before, called in was shown to table. Staff taking orders extremely polite and helpful even when I changed my order. Food came out well presented piping hot and absolutely delicious. Steak cooked to perfection definitely be back. Beautiful pub and surroundings xx

Very friendly atmosphere within the pub. Staff are very helpful and always smiling. Food was fantastic and very well presented. It was definitely worth the 50 minute drive to the Bulls head to sample their food. Highly recommended

Visited last Sunday for lunch. Delicious meal tasting just like home cooked. Lovely old pub, plenty of parking but remember to register your vehicle!

A yummy evening meal, great scampi! My parents enjoyed their pork and pie.The staff were attentive and the made sure we needed everything we needed. The only downside was that the onion rings were a little oily, I think the batter was a little too thin.An otherwise fantastic evening and we will be returning.

This is a fine, family friendly pub located in the heart of Davenham, Cheshire. It serves to those thirsty enough a nice selection of locally brewed cask ales along with the usual choice of beverages one would come to expect of a public house. There is plentiful car parking at the rear which is accessed via the coach & horses bolt hole. For those wh require feeding it offers a very good selection of hot and cold food which I would definitely recommend. The staff are ready to assist in making your visit a contented one and always with a smile. The only offset is that dining is split over the ground and 1st floor with no toilet facilities available on the 1st floor which if anyone has aches or pains negotiating a stair climb can be less than ideal.Thank you Bulls Head.

Lovely pub, dogs are allowed and staff bring water and treats over for them. Good selection of foods and drinks, and really clean. Overall a very nice place.
