Had a Sunday roast here last week and was very underwhelmed as the roast tasted as if it had been under a hot lamp all day. The beef was nicely cooked and although it was by no means a bad Sunday roast, I would expect more for the price as I've had just as good, if not better at Toby Carvery. Beautiful location, food could just be a bit better.

Average Sunday roast with ok service.Arrived for the booking, whilst waiting the first drink took over 10 minutes to arrive. Having been forgotten about, when it did arrive no apology was given for the length of wait.Server didn’t introduce herself, coming across very disinterested and unfriendly. We asked for more time to decide and she didn’t seem happy. We orders 2 starters, they were okay. No table check was taken by waitress. When our plates were taken away, again she didn’t check if we wanted any other drinks. One of our drinks had been sat finished for over 10 minutes. In the end we went to the bar to order more.We ordered two beef dinners for main. Upon ordering them initially we asked if they came pink, for which the server confirmed they did. When they arrived they were not pink, suggesting they’d been left under the pass for a substantial amount of time. Roast potatoes were cold and hard. The rest of the food was good, the only thing that stood out specifically were the pigs in blankets. The waitress did table check us this time, however it was 30 seconds after our mains had been served. Therefore not an adequate time for a customer to check whether their food is actually ok.When we finished she took the plates away again like starters without a final check. We said no to desserts, and eventually went up to the bar to pay because the waitress disappeared. When we left, the same waitress was the only member of staff around, she looked at us as we left and never even bothered to say bye.Overall a good meal, however service needs serious improvements. Both myself and my partner work in hospitality. If the waiting on staff give off the impression they’re not interested, then people will not want to return.

Food very nice. Would like to see a few more choices from the grill but after the hospitality hit from covid it's understandable. Paul, our drinks waiter was super attentive, an absolute asset to the restaurant.

Booked a table for myself and partner plus one child . Excellent decor and a relaxed atmosphere I decided on the sea bream my partner the lamb both cooked to perfection absolutely delicious the child’s meal also good . The only thing that lets this restaurant down is the lack of staff and slow service we arrived approx 5pm . It took a while to get our drinks ordered however the staff were lovely just a couple short in my opinion. I would visit again as the food was delicious.

Went on a Taste Cheshire tour from Delamere that uses this place and it was FABULOUS!!!The food was AMAZING. Like a tasting board with tons of locally produced grub! The service was exceptional and the chef even came out to tell us all about what we were eating.Highly recommended! Well done!!

Lovely location. Celebrated a friend's wedding in the garden before coming inside for gorgeous food. Staff were absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. Venue was spotlessly clean. Thank you Chester Fields!

We booked The Chester Fields as the venue for our wedding. It was fantastic. Aimee the manager was so organised on the build up and made us feel like she had it all under control and we could tailor the day to whatever we liked. The chef and kitchen team worked their socks off to cook us the most incredible canapés, 3 course meal and the pizza oven in the evening was such a special touch. Hannah at The Little Brick House did our gorgeous flowers to suit the wild flower meadow vibe of the location. We used Tents & Events for the marquee and chairs - Vanessa was so helpful and easy to contact. Our cake was from Crowthers Cakes in Frodsham - beautiful and delicious. We booked the business next door to include Alpaca walks for our guests which added a hilarious touch to a chilled, summers day. Thank you everyone at The Chester Fields.
