We had a Sunday roast dinner platter for 2. £30 and it was huge. We couldn't eat it all, so we brought it home. Food was great, and the staff were very friendly and served with a smile.

Excellent service, delicious food and fairly good service overall. Can be a little slow when busy but generally very good. The ambience and decor of the place is lovely and there is a reasonably good selection of ales available. Certainly one of my favourite pubs in the Cheshire area.

We went here with another couple for the Valentine’s Day. We decided to have a special couples menu, so the starters were quite average, then we had to wait about an hour to finally try the main course, which really disappointed us, especially steaks, they were so thin and chewy. The place wasn’t busy at all but the service was extremely slow, so if you are hungry try to avoid this place. Then we had to wait ages to get the deserts (they were actually fine). If the staff was more attentive, I could close my eyes on the average quality of food, but to be honest we didn’t feel welcomed there at all.

What a glorious Christmas Eve we experienced at the Goshawk on Friday. The community spirit felt by the huge crowds that gathered was such a phenomenal feeling after the past 2 years of isolation and social distancing! Seeing how excited all the children were by the horses and hounds was so heartwarming too.The service received by the pub was impeccable and whilst we were only there for drinks (the mulled wine was a welcome touch as it was rather cold outside!) all the plates of food we saw looked absolutely incredible and every member of staff wore a big smile on their face.It really was the perfect start to our families Christmas festivities and would really just like to thank everyone involved for their outstanding efforts.Best wishes and all the best for the New Year x

We stayed just a few minutes walk from the Goshawk. What a gem. We had 3 meals here. First class food, service, staff and setting. Staff very polite and attentive. I could recommend this place to anyone. The photograph of the meal is a sharing platter for Sunday lunch. Lovely. Thanks from Gary and Sue.

Quite a spacious place, food ok, 1star down due to - undercooked chips and staff who don't take orders quite right, when we asked for roast without a Yorkshire pudding, we still got it and for apple and mango drink we got apple only. Small things but they do matter
