A great canal side location for a pub with atmosphere. Very busy on Friday evening, but excellent service in the dining area. Good choice on menu and generous portions. Our cheerful waitress was attentive and helped to make our visit a good experience. I would definitely recommend this pub for dining.

I've had the pleasure of visiting Chester several times over the past few years. The first time I came, I found this place while exploring the city. Now, no trip is complete without a visit to this pub. Several visits, preferably. This place isn't a standard shady sports pub with a bunch of young folks yelling at one another. No annoying loud music or stag/hen parties. It's a cozy, respectable place with interesting beers and great food. Probably the best fish and chips I've ever had.Dog friendly, as well. I can't wait until my next visit.

Excellent menu. Very helpful staff Great value and brilliant "vibe" to the pub. Food was excellent and beer choice variety and quality excellent. Couldn't fault anything

The Steak burger was just ok, it was fresh and the meat was warm but it didn’t really stand out, for £15 I would not have it again. The fries were nice and crispy but the orange sauce on the side wasn’t great.

Fantastic veggie Sunday Roast plus a good range of cask Ales served in tip tip condition

Lovely friendly pub. Very busy. Great spot on the canal side. Brilliant choice of drinks at the bar. Food looked amazing. Didn't eat there, but will definitely go back to try. Looked like the best thing is to book in advance if you want to be sure of a table to dine, although you can just pop in for drinks. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Used this pub during a 60th birthday celebration weekend. Situated by the Shropshire Union Canal alongside the main drag from the train station into Chester.Simply brilliant. A traditional pub with no nonsense. Great beers and drinks. Had a simple tapas of prawns with my beer and they were fabulous. To put this place into context it was the return to pub throughout the long weekend stay in Chester.Brilliant ... thanks you team.

This is a lovely place in a great location. We haven't been to Chester for a few years, and were with a group who had already booked a meal somewhere else. We spotted Old Harkers on the way and called in for some drinks. We were all very impressed so came back after our meal for a few more. Well worth seeking this place out.

This pub is an excellent. Visited twice now, and both times the food, beer and staff have been absolutely excellent. I will certainly be recommending this to anyone who will listen.

Lovely pub set on the canal, where you can watch the world and barges go by, and although the weather was awful the staff were warm and welcoming. The food was delicious, the steak was cooked just right and the buttermilk chicken was mouthwatering and tasty, would definitely go back there next time we're in Chester
