Very overpriced. Food is trying to be high end but fails. Owner was rude. Everything was too expensive. Will not go back again and would advise the same to anyone else.Recently went back to give this place another go. My original review still stands. I'd also like to point out that the gentleman "Ian" who commented about my review, is a chef at the pub.

Staying at nearby Carden Park but didn't fancy their high end prices. Called in to the sandstone instead and really glad we did - a very warm welcome, staff were lovely. Generous portions of well cooked pub grub, the best fish and chips I've had in a long time and very tasty puds! Would definitely call again! Thanks

We were a party of 7 and ate at the Sandstone last eveningthe starters were ok but the main courses were dreadfulthe turkey dinners were swimming in gravy and 2 of the othermeals they didn't bring the vegetables. When we received our bill, they had overcharged us for thewine and beers !!We were also cold in the conservatory, when we booked at thebeginning of November they said we would have the table bythe fire.We definitely won't be eating there again

Lovely garden to enjoy post walk drink. Staff very accommodating too

Great food and service. Not fast on a Sunday but friendly so no problem. Dog and boot friendly. Ale on great form. Shame there was none from the Sandstone brewery on offer on my visit.

Its what you would expect from a quaint little Cheshire pub and the staff were very friendly and welcoming but waiting times were overly excessive. The food wasn't up to the standard you would have expected and it certainly wasn't value for money. Tip - don't order the lemon posset

We got a voucher for the Sandstone for Christmas off friends so we decided to do a circular walk around the Sandstone Trail and call in after we'd done it.We were welcomed in with our muddy boots and two dogs which was great! The service was second to none, we both opted for thesteak burger which was lovely just right for hitting the spot after being chilled to the bone on our walk! The prices of the food reflect the quality :-D Would definitely call back again!! Thanx X

The reviewer craig james, has clearly never been to this pub, as all the points of his review are so wrong. We eat here regular and the landlord is about as friendly as you can get, a really old fashioned type, you always get a warm welcome as you do from the staff too.The food is fantastic with great choice from pub classics to restaurant standard dishes, all of which are very well priced. They have a great wine list and a good selection of local ales(they have been in the good beer guide 2 years running). Will be back soon

The beer & food were excellent but most of all the friendly staff were so chilled we felt right at home throughout. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a 4 month old with us. Brilliant, years since I was in the Copper Mine, but I will be back at the Sandstone soon.

Took my girlfriend out for a meal and drink here and the food was fantastic and service was fast even though there was only one waitress on and most tables were full. staff were very friendly from the minute we walked through the door to when we left. pricing is fair with starters and deserts costing no more than £6 each and main meals costing around £10 each. will defiantly visit again :)
