Hare and Hounds Abbey Village in Chorley

Popped in for lunch after a walk around the local nature reserve and the reservoirs. Well kept local pub which serves excellent value tasty food - something a little different too with its German inspired part if the menu. Dog friendly too. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the local area

Stopped here a few times . Nice place to come with your dog or out walking. Food was nice.I had beef sandwich with chips and Gf had chilli con carne.Chilli and sandwich was made with nice cuts of beef.The chips were nothing to shout about.And we did have a 30+ min wait and people who came in after got served.On the whole a good experience.

Lovely place to eat especially after a long walk. Fantastic choice of homemade food, they've even added a little German twist on their menu.

Friendly staff, gorgeous food with a short wait despite only 1 member of staff in the kitchen and only a few tables left to fill. Only thing id say was it was quite cold however we were sat next to the door and the log fire wasnt on. Dog friendly always a bonus.

Pub was full if wet smelly dogs. Like an outing at crufts. Food was quite small portions and pretty basic stuff. Wouldnt visit again.

Great dog friendly pub serving good food and a lovely pint of Moorhouses White Witch. Will definitely call again when walking in the area.

A lovely little place with a great choice of drink. Some good cask ales too. I didn't eat but the smells were telling me I should have! I'll be back when I'm hungry.

Lovely 4 mile walk... you can park your car on their carpark as long as you stop for a drink and and a bite to eat. The bonus is great food available, what more can you ask for 😁

Unusual menu with some interesting German dishes. Log fire, part stone floor, tables outside as well as inside. Allows dogs inside. Friendly local pub.
