Hoghton Arms in Chorley

We booked a table at 4pm Mother's Day. We were put in our own room together separate from the rest of the pub which was great. There was a limited Mother's menu and my daughter couldn't find anything she liked. They said she could order off the main menu and she got a chicken burger which she really enjoyed. The food was really good especially the roast chicken. There was plenty, we got half a chicken each. The staff were lovely.

This is the second time we have visited the pub to eat having previously only had drinksThe food is very good. But the service is very hap dash to say the least the pub was not overly busy but it seems to take ages to get served and for the food to arrive. Having run pubs myself for over 30 years I understand sometimes we dont get it right but when this happens on both occasions I have to ask myself whether to go somewhere else would be a better option

Been a couple of times now with my partner and both times we have really enjoyed it. The food was excellent and Samantha our waitress was lovely and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Will definitely be returning soon.

We had lunch on a Saturday afternoon, plenty of tables available and we were seated and served very quickly. The service was brilliant and the waiting staff very polite. Dog friendly and delicious food. We will definitely be back.

We visit here once every other month or so and always enjoy the high standards of friendly hospitality and food. They have a reduced menu at the moment but we found that it was still plentiful and we quickly selected our meals without disappointment. Everything is always immaculate and there's loads of parking spaces right outside :)

We were obviously a little concerned about going out into a public venue with the current Omicron variant being so prevalent but on arrival we immediately felt as safe as we could be. Very well social distance from other guests and we could feel good airflow sow ventilation was also apparent. Our festive meal was pre-booked and arrived without hitch. We have been several times before and always had excellent food. This time was no exception. There were obviously some staff shortages but this did delay the service to any large extent so well done to the staff for making the visit enjoyable.

lovely environment after doing an 8 mile walk. staff where friendly, facilities very clean, food was very good and satisfying. you can tell the team are making a great effort to ensure all customers where looked after.

Very disappointed went there for my wife's birthday. Its is supposed to do rotisserie chicken didn't have any on. I chose BBQ Wings for a starter. You guessed it no wings either. The food we did have was good but not what we wanted.

Terrible for Christmas day. No welcome drink on arrival which was paid for.Table booked for 13:30 and our starters were being served as we were still in the process of twelve of us sitting down.Main course, when it finally arrived over an hour later was cold and under cooked. One lamb meal looked as though it had cat food served.Dessert was OK but for some having Christmas pudding, should have been served with brandy sauce not custard.Hot toddy filo pastry served with ice cream not hot custard as stated.Had to ask for my grandsons starter, main and his dessert was totally forgotten about.The owners pushed our eat time forward and it was evident that they had done this to cram extra sittings in.Rocky plates on uneven tables.No social distancing, rammed so close together that we had to take it in turns to visit our plates to cut our food up to eat it.We were not served coffee and praline at the end which was paid for.Terrible. Glad to get out.

Very friendly. Pleasant. Clean . Seating area outside. Large inside seating areas. Nipped in for Sunday roast .. great choice of food on the menu .Just beef roast was on the menu today .. was very nice .(for a Sunday roast) .. Table service. Lovely place .
