Great BBQ food smoked on site it seems, the owner is very passionate about it. Lovely

The food was great, including the vegetarian option. Tasty starters and main course and good portion sizes.

Great little place. The food is really good, chicken wings and ribs to start were amazing and standard burger with brisket was also really good, the guest ale on tap was from Newcastle brewery and was soooo good. Atmosphere good and staff really friendly.

Really enjoyed the visit! Food was excellent and really reasonably priced! Great beer too! Service from the waiter was a little slow but overall a really enjoyable experience and will be back. Recommended.

Booked a table here for 18:00 on a Saturday for my friends birthday. While the food was lovely, unfortunately the hospitality was not. We ordered mains (No starters) and a bottle of wine to share. Once we had finished our main a waiter took away our plates and quickly after, a lady came to our table requesting for us to pay. No mention of “Would you like to see our dessert menu?” No offer at all. Soon after we had paid, my friend had finished her glass of wine but I did still have some left. The same lady then came over, took away my friends glass and the empty bottle.. knowing I still had some wine left in my glass, saying “Can I take these… it’s just we have someone waiting!”Never have we been made to feel so rushed and unwelcome before when visiting a restaurant.I understand that there will be tables booked after us as we had booked early (18:00) but in no way did we outstay our welcome which should be given. If you want to give your customers only 1 hour to eat up and leave when booking an early evening table you need to express this information at the time of booking so we are aware and have the opportunity to cancel and book elsewhere where we won’t be so rushed. What makes this worse is that a letter was actually sent also directly to Smokies expressing the dissapointment of the experience received and this was totally ignored. No acknowledgement what so ever which I feel is hugely rude and ignorant. As mentioned, the food was lovely but the hospitality really needs to be improved in order to keep the custom.

Food was really good. Service was a little bit slow but they were very busy. Booking essential. One thing that stopped them getting 5 stars was the craft ale they served was from the Orkney Islands. I couldn't understand this as there is some fantastic craft ale brewerys local. But all in all I would recommend this place.

Good ambience, liked the theme of the restaurant, staff were knowledgeable, polite and efficient. Good range of food on the menu and it was all served really quickly without much of a wait between courses. The prices are not cheap, but quite frankly you get what you pay for. Everything tasted handmade and of good quality and the portions are generous. There was not much vegetarian food on the menu, but I expected that, "smokies" naturally infers BBQ and meats. I apprehensively chose the only non-meat main course which wasn't really that descriptive nor did it sound particularly appealing but I was pleasantly surprised. My husband was impressed with his meat loving option and I enjoyed my wrap, I did experience a crunch midway through that I wasn't expecting and found some chips in it. I actually thought this was a really good touch, as it contrasted with the texture of the wrap and rest of the filling.Fab churros too 😊 would recommend.

Absolutely loved it. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth booking a table especially if you're going at the weekends. It's not an extensive menu, but there's so much meat. I would definitely recommend this place. Family friendly too and there's things on the menu for most. Plus the friendly staff are more than happy to ensure your order is cooked to your requirement

Food was good, nachos were brilliant. We had the main sharing platter. Lots of items but didn't think they were all cooked the best. Half the brisket was really moist the other half was too dry, pulled pork was great, the smoke on the ribs wasn't that nice. Overall it was a decent meal just could have been better on the mains.
