Most definitely the best food I've had in a long time! Very friendly staff and also dog friendly. My new favourite place to go.

Lovely traditional pub a gem in the centre of Limbrick just a couple of miles from chorley centre... great walks on the doorstep, dog friendly and beautiful, delicious homemade food, great cask beer, top range lagers and great wine and friendly staff once you get there.

We visited the black horse today , the food was delicious, hot and fresh. Hats off to the chef! Fast service too. We will definitely be back, thankyou

We used to visit here with our walking group of about 15 plus 7 dogs. They would always accommodate us.What a turnaround. This place is in a great walking area. But, they now have a limit of 5 dogs inside. Yesterday was was warm weather, the beer garden had 3 different walking groups and their dogs. They would have lost alot of custom if the weather was different. We only had chips to eat. They came down the steps and outside empty handed to say our food was ready for collection upstairs.

Don't know what planet the last reviewer was on - If your going to worry about covid and your fully jabbed and boosted then why would you go to a pub and kick off that they are not going covid overboard ? - some people eh ?? do us a favour please if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything !ALL that aside - We called in today to one of our best loved pubs in this seductive and special location - and such and old and traditional place - and the welcome was warm and the beer and wine great - and at reasonable prices - we didn't eat as we were just passing by after walking the dogs - but the pub was open on New years day !!!! and quite busy - we checked the menu its all very reasonable - We are coming back soon to have a nice meal there - This is a lovely pub with a slightly poor history of previous managers or owners but now looks set to do great things-I wish them every success and they could be onto a real success here as the welcome was lovely and the place is a true gem !!!traditional it is and hopefully will remain !!!!

Really lovely traditional Sunday roast and friendly staff

The newly reopened pub is a lovely, friendly retreat. The staff are happy to see you, the place looks good, and there is a beer garden and a carpark. Not tried the food yet but it looks and smells good, so will be doing. Some good veggie, although not vegan, options on the menu. Definitely recommend.

Lunch menu in a really clean pub, fish goujons with real home cooked chips and fresh peas was lovely. With my wife's favourite slow cooked bbq ribs with pork falling off the bones. Full of flavor and a fresh salad. Pint of snake lifter all served up from polite and happy staff... On my walking route so i will attend again.

Fantastic little pub. Very atmospheric. Cheap lunch menu on a Sunday and reasonable main menu. Triple Club Sandwich was top notch as was the Lancashire cheese and chutney. Great way to start or end a walk 👍👌
