I am a foodie, this place was well worth the visit...100% You won't be disappointed , quality, every course

Great food. Ordered off the market menu which offers great value in the week if you order before 5pm. We all had a great meal, and the conservatory area is lovely. Nice beer garden, recommended.

Excellent food but poor service. Had to constantly find a waiter when ordering food or drinks. Drinks didn't come until we had nearly finished our meals and this only after we reminded them. At one point went to find a waitress to order our food ( we'd been waiting for 20 minutes) to find 3 of them having a nice chat amongst themselves. Would highly recommend the food but not the service

One of the best meals out I've had in a long time. Welcoming atmosphere & great service from all the staff (who had 20 ppl to serve)...on our group. Food was fabulous and good value for money πŸ’°. Recommended to all for a visit.

This was our first visit, and wow what an atmosphere, warm and welcoming. The staff were very helpful and busy. The food was very good and tasty. So we are going back this week as we enjoyed the night that much. Prices very reasonable.

Six of us went for Sunday Lunch for the first time. Lovely quirky pub with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were great and very attentive. The food was by far, the BEST in the area I and the rest of the party have ever had for the price (And trust me, we've been to alot!). 3 of us had the Roast Beef option, 1 Had the Turkey, 2 Had woodfired pizza's. I was especially impressed that The Cavendish offered an option where you could have all 3 meats of Beef, Turkey and Ham which no-one ever does. Everyone commented on how amazingly presented it was and it tasted out of this world (The Gravy was the best thing in the world you could ever imagine...It was as if Gordon Ramsey himself was slaving in the kitchen making it!!), The Pizzas were 100% made in an authentic pizza oven and possibly even with sourdough bases - The kids wolfed them down nevertheless and commented they were awesome! We all had desserts. My Chocolate Fudge cake was divine, the girls had Lemon Tart and that was light and refreshing and well made (Pics of these below - no main piccys taken as they got devoured that fast!). Drinks weren't over priced either and the food for what you are getting in quality is very very reasonable indeedAll in All, this was the best pub lunch outing I've had for a long long time. Usually somewhere either gets the food wrong or the staff are grumpy or the place looks shoddy and you stick to the floor. But NO, this place ticked every box and more.We will definitely be back very soon to sample our way through the menu as this is a new favourite of ours!

A warm welcome in a historic pub where you wish the walls could talk. Sympathetic modern orangery extension creates a lovely light space to enjoy the tasty food, as one of multiple rooms available for dining and or drinking. Top quality at reasonable prices. Highly recommend whether for an afternoon drink, table for two or family / friends gathering.

Our first visit for food and it was delicious! The menu selection was great...we wanted to try everything on the menu! We went for the sharing platter to start...delicious! We then had the duo of lamb and oriental surf & turf...both delicious. We has a lovely glass of wine and fine cask ale. Service was really attentive and friendly bit not fussy. Overall everything was excellent and we can't wait to return.
