Went for Sunday lunch, we had the Sunday roast for two, it was delicious. The chocolate brownies were to die for . We was served by a lovely ellie

Landlord is very personable and helpful. Food didn't quite meet expectations, hence the 4 stars.

Called in tonight with family had lovely fish n chips very tasty and great service

Whilst the staff were friendly and helpful the menue is a little confusing and very expensive. We chose items of the "lite bites" but you would need to order 3 or 4 items to actually complete a plate of food meaning a spend of around £30 for a main. We also ordered some the the specials which like the lite bites was very tasty but too expensive and the portion size was small. Larger cheaper meals and we'd return otherwise sadly not.

Visited in early November last year. Place looked a bit run down, so I wasn’t expecting a lot. To my surprise the Sunday roast was truly exquisite. Best I’ve ever been served in fact - and that’s no exaggeration. Will return again in near future.

Been to the Grapes @ Croston tonight. Food was amazing, service was friendly and everything about the visit was great. Highly recommended and will return soon.

Decided on a family afternoon meal on a Sunday rather late on and this was the only decent sounding place anywhere nearby we could get in - should have maybe been a tip-off.Just turning up outside, the place looked dishevelled and unkempt, now I appreciate it is just a pub in Croston and not Blenheim Palace, but 1st impressions do count and the overgrown plants impeding the car park and folded down parasols that were strewn around outdoors certainly gave an impression that someone just doesn’t care.We headed inside and were shown to our table. Despite having booked in advance and considering it was nearly empty and there were plenty of staff on, our table wasn’t even setup and this was hastily done whilst we were sat at it. We were not given any menus or ask for drinks for about 10 minutes. We were only ordered 4 drinks, however mine managed to get missed off the order, which is surprising given how quiet this place was.Food wise, I had a ‘Pie of the Day’ and it was really decent to be fair, I couldn’t fault mine. My wife had a Vegetable Lasagne – hardly a hard dish and it looked awful and she didn’t rate the taste any better. It didn’t even have proper lasagne sheets in, instead just an attempt at a layer with Tagliatelle instead and just a single layer of this even – that isn’t a Lasagne! The top of this dish had a ultra-thick layer of cheese on it, just too much and most of it had to be removed and discarded.The staff were nice and friendly in fairness, but the whole attitude of the place just came across as a bit half arsed and sloppy. For example, a number of them seemed to have a uniform on, but this was covered by wearing a hoodie over the top of it. The blokes toilets appeared to have a leak from the sink and a trip here was accompanied by a perilously full bucket of water being left to deal with the issue.The décor of the place was very old fashioned – but not in a good way. It felt like a place that had been furnished from a few house clearances and just gave a disjointed frumpy vibe.It’s a nice building with a lot of old character, or perhaps it could be, but I feel this place needs something of an overhaul to make the most of it and to give it a real rustic, more authentic feel. The staff, whilst nice and friendly also need to sharpen up their service skills in truth and for heavens sake, please learn how to do a decent Vegetable Lasagne.

Went for lunch and disappointed. However the service was great from the girls, friendly attentive and helpful.I ordered fish cake which looked like it had been pulled out of a freezer and chucked into a deep fat fryer.Dull tasteless.My friend ordered chicken and Asian salad ( lettuce, cucumber, tomatoe with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and a drizzle of sweet chill sauce)Recommendations….change your fish cake supplier and know what’s in an Asian salad.

The food was absolutely delicious! Will definitely be going back to try more form their menu AND to have a try of their afternoon tea; I'm told it's a good one!

What a lovely afternoon tea - the soup and mini hot choc was amazing! The staff were friendly staff and attentive too - would go again.
