Really lovely food, plenty of choice for everyone and quick, friendly service. It was quite busy which is a great sign but meant the little car park was quite full but managed to get a space. Nice garden outside too which will be great for summer. Will be returning to try more of the great menu (can definitely recommend the beef stroganoff)!

The food was really good, everything is really clean and tidy, The only thing that let it down was the service, It was 19:00 on a Saturday night so I know they were busy but we sat there for over 25 minutes before anyone asked what we would like to order, Even then I had to ask someone for service. Everyone was really polite and lovely but the service wasn't on parr. I would go back 100% and give them another chance because I just think it was a bad night.

I hate giving poor reviews, but last night we went to the Rivington for a special meal out with family and the food was so disappointing. The atmosphere was terrific, the staff really helpful, but the food was a let downMy son had sirloin steak cooked medium with chunky chips and we joked it was like a bush tucker trial because it was so fatty and chewy, he had to spit out some bits of steak, because he couldn't break it down by chewing.I had sausage and mash and we all laughed when it was placed in front of us, as we honestly thought it was a child's portion. It was the smallest dot of mash potatoes I had ever seen with 2 sausages placed on top and gravy poured overThe taste of this was delicious, but the portion wasnt great. My wife had Lamb Henry which was lamb on the bone, slow cooked served with mash potatoes, vegetables and a red wine juThe lamb was cooked lovely, but my wife had a smaller blob of mash potato than I had and we raised this with the waiter who then brought a bowl containing more mash potatoesWe couldn't see any red wine ju, as my wife's gravy appeared identical to mineFinally my wife and I were presented with a bowl of vegetables each to go with our meals and it was obvious these had been left on a hotplate for some time as the vegetables had started to become dry and had lost their moisture, so had to be put into the mash or gravy to give them a bit of life backOur last guest had fillet beef kebab with fries and this was delicious and I had a taste and most definitely had a bit of food envyEvery other occasion we have visited here the food has been first class and we just hope this was just a one offWe will be back to try again in the future

Fantastic lunch here today. Had the steak diane with skinny fries. Always enjoy myself here. Staff are lovely and friendly, and prices are good. Hubby had a mixed grill which he enjoyed. Was quite a large meal too.

The most amazing friendly place to eat. The steaks are to die for. I’ve eaten here for years and could never find fault with either the service or the food. Sadly they are leaving but we’ll be happy to follow them x

Dissappoited again. Given this place a number of tries but each time good has been average.Menu is extensive so can't comment on all but so far been let down my the pizza, fish and chips and pie. As Gordon Ramsey would say, maybe better to reduce to menu and do what you do well rather than do everything so so.Place is nice and staff friendly. Pity about the food. Presentation good but lacks flavour and quality.

So we had the three course menu for ÂŁ18.99. Had a prawn starter and stake and ale pie for main . Not one piece of chewy meat , nice chunky chips . We couldn't fit pudding in so asked could we take away , not a problem. Lovely staff and very clean .

We had our daughter’s birthday dinner. There were 11 of us.We ordered drinks at the bar. My husband was happy to see Guinness and order it. He said, “the bar man poured my Guinness too quickly and in one go.”Starters came promptly and there was a bit of long wait for main dishes, but it’s definitely worth waiting for. The portions were really generous. All the dishes we ordered were so tasty. The staff were all nice and helpful. Very happy to go back there again and I highly recommend it.

Visited this place a couple of times and it’s great. The service is always fab, the staff are super friendly and attentive. More importantly, the food is fantastic. Plenty of V options and so tasty! Last time, I packed a pasta dish to go and it tasted even better the next day! Can’t wait for our next visit.
