Nice pub on the outskirts of the reservoir and worth a visit after a good walk.Decent size indoors and there's an area outside too. I believe reservations are required to eat indoors but outdoor is first come first serve. Outside there's a nice enough view of the countryside and is a bit of a suntrap. The food is very nice too, the menu is fairly small but more than adequate to suit all needs.

We have been coming to the Yew Tree for 10+ years (on average once every 2-3 weeks) and have never ever had a bad experience. The quality of the food, the friendly service and overall experience is truly exceptional, and all comes with really reasonable prices! It really is a step up from your average gastropub and we look forward to many more years of the same.

Lovely lunch, impromptu visit during a walk round Rivington/Anglezarke. Met by a lovely guy and told we could sit anywhere. Lovely cosy fires burning - very welcoming on a chilly day ! We'd only called in for a quick bite but was told there was only a standard 3 course menu but this was very varied and had some tempting dishes. I had the burger with chips and onion rings which was the nicest burger I've tasted and the chips and onion rings were delicious, all freshly cooked. Will definitely be returning to try some of the other interesting dishes!!

Really cannot fault the place! A step above your average country pub. The decor was nicely done, ambience great. Staff very friendly and efficient. But the food - oh my word! Absolutely divine! Really tasty ingredients that were well cooked and tasted as good as it looked. A lovely place for a meal and will definitely be returning ☺

Really nice venue. Open log burners/fires, excellent views of rivington and the surrounding area, combined with screened off outdoor seating. Couple of points... I'd recommend booking a table in advance as it can get extremely busy if the weather is nice. Also, although there is a car park, there are no real designated bays, so at times it can be a bit of a free for all, but this shouldn't deter you.The food and service are exceptional and I look forward to returning in the near future.

Sunday lunch was delicious. Roast beef, yorkshire pud & veg cooked perfectly. Hubby had filet steak, pepper sauce we were very impressed. Chef is very talented. Customer service excellent. Relaxed atmosphere - we first visited here 38 years for my 21st and keep returning!!

This place oozes amazing 🤩The food is to die for - it’s bursting with flavour, made fresh to order. I cannot recommend any higher the fillet steak - next level quality on the cut of meat and cooked perfectly. It’s then topped off with 10/10 great customer service. And the final cherry on the cake which makes it an all round all star choice is- it’s dog friendly!!! Xx

Good food and dog friendly. Nice place to go after a walk in the Rivington Pike area

Very cozy country pub/restaurant. Whilst it still has a bar this is primarily a restaurant. Food looks good but I didn't eat so can't comment. Just there for a post country walk drink. A space was found for our 5 person group with the stipulation we only stay 30 minutes. Clearly more interested in diners than drinkers. Two Black Edge brewery beers plus usual lagers. Convivial atmosphere, reasonably friendly staff. On this Sunday it was the typical Sunday lunch clientele.

Lovely quaint country pub set in the quiet countryside. Plenty of outdoor seating overlooking fields. Only one problem, hence 4 stars instead of 5 and thats the lack of vegetarian choice on the menu. Only 1 starter and 1 main course.
