Brook House Inn and Restaurant in Copeland

We just called in for a drink so can't comment on the food or rooms. Staff were friendly and the pub had a relaxed atmosphere, if we're in the area again would possibly try the food.

Amazing food, the best by far in the area. Wonderful service and great selection of drinks.

We arrived earlier and they checked us in very quickly. The service was 10+ everyone was very nice (especially the lady with short hair).The food was good, delicious breakfast.Very good location.The only issue we had was with the bathroom as this wasn't as clean. There were huge spider webs in 3 corners in the room and the bathroom was dusty, not cleaned properly at all.I think they should improve the cleaning service!!

“DISHONEST” PUB GRUBAfter 2 days of walking in the hills we returned to the campsite looking forward to some honest pub grub and local beer. Unfortunately our first choice (The Boot Inn) was fully booked so we walked onto the Brook House Inn.After ordering food our starters took over an hour to come out due, we were told, to an issue with the till. For mains we ordered the “Cumbrian Lamb Kleftiko”. To say we were disappointed by this dish is a massive understatement. The portion was small with fatty meat, poorly prepped veg and generally fairly tasteless sauce. It reminded me of meals I cooked as a student on a shoe string budget. We begrudgingly ate the mains mainly because we were so starving hungry having waited so long for the food to appear.The worst part of the evening was the reaction from the so called manager when we complained about the wait for the food and the quality of the mains. Her immediately defensive attitude suggested it was not unusual to receive complaints. The manager did knock a main off the bill and begrudgingly a bit extra.If you can avoid this pub then I would recommend doing so to avoid disappointment. The standard of the food, decor, staff and prices are very poor.

Stunning food, great range of beers & whisky combined with friendly atmosphere

Stopped off here for a drink and some food after a lovely River walk. The food was good and there is a wide range of drinks available. The staff were friendly and there was a nice roaring open fire going to give the place that country feel.

Lovely hotel, great location for exploring the area. We had a comfortable room. great for a cuppa after the day's outing. Food very good in the restaurant.

Exceptionally good food. Best steak pie we've ever had! Wonderful. And ale is fantastic too. Mushroom focaccia, black pudding stack, lamb chops, all highly recommended.
