Sunday night steaks with the wife, Barry never let us down.... best steaks around, we will be back now we have found you..... last steak that nice was cooked at the Colonial.... which you did...

The cooks attitude to customers needs work.The advertised special on facebook could have been made clearer which led to a misunderstanding with the bill. The cook spoke to our table quite arrogantly and insulting. Such a shame as our party of 11 had intended to have dinner at the restaurant both nights of our stay. His lose another restaurants gain.Anyone dining please check prices and if in any doubt ask for the cook to confirm.Steak was fantastic. Garlic mushrooms not so much. More like mushroom soup. Not a whole mushroom in sight. Mostly small chopped bits. Very disappointing.

Fantastic steaks, best we've ever tasted. Staff brilliant and courteous. Can't recommend highly enough, if you're in the area then it's a must.

Absolutely gorgeous little spot. Steak is to die for. It is dog and child friendly , with a kids menu and super friendly staff. My daughter was unwell when we visited but the owner was fantastic with her and let us take her food home with us.

Best place I have eaten in a long time. 5 of us went all food piping hot and served together. Starters were brilliant but the steaks were next level 2 600g steaks were bought by people with eyes bigger than their bellies, one made it through the other had to hang his head in shame and accept a take away box. Brilliant service staff super helpful and friendly the chef came out personally to see if we were enjoying our meal. A big thing that I liked is that you got enough sauce so many times you order a sauce to go with your steak and it's never enough here it was more than enough. 5 sticky toffee puddings to finish came with 2 scoops of ice cream and again loads of sauce. Could not fault the food the staff or the place will be returning soon for sure.

Massive 👍. Awesome steak 😊This place knows how to do its steak, I did ask for well done but trust them it's well rested so no blood bath on your plate. Very tasty steaks I even forgot to order pepper sauce but it wasnt needed. Nice to see these guys back in this little pub and I hope it all works well and its here for when I next visit the lake district 😊
