Had a lovely 3 night stay at Moresby Hall over the Easter bank holiday. Easy to find off the main road into Whitehaven, as you drive through the stone gates the magnificent splender of the hall is right in front of you, round the lawns on a crunchy pebble drive just the kind you expect from such a property with such presence. One of the first things I noticed is how warm the house is a real comfy feel.. we were met by Jane at reception (early check in by app) and explained throughly breakfast, lobby drinks etc, a lovely chat about the house and then directed to our room.Top floor with the most magnificent of staircases, and entered a large bedroom at the front of the house overlooking front lawns and sea to the right.Huge 4 poster bed luxurious velvet curtains and trimmings, full tea making facilities with biscuits.Bathroom with full jacuzzi jet shower.Large tv dressing table chair and side table. The pillows and quilt were feathers I think so really warm and comfortable. Bed extremely comfortable although sometimes has a creek.Breakfast wow what can I say, Jayne put on everything from cereals, toasts and preserves, yougarts, fruit juices, full menu of breakfast items and the most divine fruit salad, no apple or pear just fully of raspberry, mango, kiwi, orange, blueberries, pineapple delicious.Jane is a wonderful host always attentive to your needs, nothing seems to much trouble, very knowledgeable regarding property and restoration, I’m so glad we choose Moresby had such a spectacular time, we will definitely be back.

I would highly recommend Moresby Hall. The owners were extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I am a wheelchair user so was concerned about the actual accessibility of this grade 1 listed building. However they exceeded our expectations, having a designated, very well thought out, accessible apartment on the ground floor with every possible aid needed. Not only that but it was beautiful and we very much enjoyed our stay. Jane and David the owners were very welcoming, approachable and friendly, and they even made a amendment to the front door as my chair caught on a part of it. Breakfast was really nice, having a great selection to choose from and hot food made to order. One of the best breakfasts I’ve had and it felt much better than the buffet style English breakfast. The weekend went by very fast and I’d have loved to stay longer.Would highly recommend this beautiful hall as you won’t be disappointed

The hotel is an hidden gem,My wife and I stayed for one night and are planning to return ASAP.Our host Dave & Jane were fantastic and very friendly. The hotel is unique with its features of original characters with a twist of contemporary which blended well together. We had dinner and this was delicious and beautiful presented followed by drinks in the very relaxing lounge. The scrambled eggs I had for breakfast were probably the best I’ve ever eaten. Finally I would also like to say a big thank you to Ellis for looking after us at both dinner and breakfast with his professionalism and enthusiasm. Will be back very soon.

Enjoyed our 1 night stay. Ideal location if you wish to explore the North West Lakes. Attic Room was a bit different and wouldn't be to everybody's taste with a steep stone spiral staircase for access and when inside the room there were no windows. Note there was a low level beam which we had to duck under every time we moved around in the room ! Breakfast was nice

Me and my Bf stayed for 2 nights and it was amazing. The building is very English traditional and full of culture. The food and service were really good. Jane and David were such good hosts, were very friendly and welcoming making sure we were well looked after. I would definitely come back again soon and would recommend it specially during summer time...

The hotel is beautiful, grounds are well kept and the views amazing. Topped off with 5* service, couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast was very good and all guidelines were being followed so I felt very safe. Hope to stay here again when I next visit.

We stayed here with friends this weekend, and had an amazing experience from the minute we arrived to the minute we checked out. The staff were very helpful and friendly, even going above what we expected at nearly having to rescue us after a taxi let us down late at night. The rooms are beautifully decorated with everything you needed, and they have the most comfortable beds you could wish to sleep in. Breakfast is cooked fresh and thoroughly enjoyable. If you are in the area I would recommed staying

We enjoyed staying there for 3 nights. Recommended.Good Breakfast menu. Nice size of garden. Good that maintaining old English culture. About 10 min walking down to Parton beach and railway station, Walking distance to Whiteheaven marina. If dinner menu is less expensive, it would be much nicer.

A very nice and spacious room and bathroom, and a comfy 4 poster bed. The food for tea and the breakfast was well worth staying in for, just the right portion size, not too big and not too small. Very pleasant and friendly hosts made the all too brief stay a pleasure.

I went with my husband for his birthday and had a lovely stay. We were made to feel very welcome. The food was fantastic!! we had the steak and it was the best I've ever tasted. Not too far from the town centre and a very short drive to the beach. From what I saw the grounds are also lovely.I think the only down side was the noisy bed we had hahaGreat for adults but not so much for kids.
