The Hound Inn in Copeland

Great pub, very friendly :) never disappointing.

Pleasant with good choice of ales.From were we live it is a pleasant walk.

food was fresh and delicious.

Genuinely one of the best pubs we have had the pleasure of visiting in a long time. We have a dog who can be reactive to strangers. The owner (and locals in the pub) took time to make our dog feel safe.We got pished and our dog had the best time - treats galore! Cant wait to come back!

Lovely, local, family friendly pub. The staff were so nice and accommodating. We went to watch the England match with our two young children which we were unsure about. Well it was fab. Everyone was friendly they have a pond with so many fish and a lovely little garden. We didn't order any food but we loved it here and wouldn't hesitate going back again

Friendly pub with amazing food would definitely recommend to anyone in the area, luckily due to planning we found out they do not serve food at the beginning of the week but was worth it when we had food at the end of our stay in the area. As dog lovers me and my friend throughly enjoyed a pint and meeting the locals furbabies friendly dogs who love a but of attention.

Cold atmosphere when we walked in. Seems more like a local pub for local people than a family friendly pub.We had only just walked through the door when the owners two terriers attacked our dog leaving her with 2 puncture bite holes under her chest. Our dog was on her lead and was very well behaved (she is a mountain rescue search dog)As we were leaving the owner said sorry and explained that it only happened because we came in to their domain (A public room in a pub) they then pointed to a poorly displayed A4 notice outside with small writing, which apparently explains their issue with their dog-aggressive dogs, the notice looked more like a letter.They claim to be dog friendly, I would suggest that you do not take your dog here as the owner's dogs roam off their lead and clearly attack every dog which comes in to the pub, hence their need for a notice.I have attached a photo after we had cleaned the puncture hole.

Friendly people haven't tried the food. They sell Stella what else do you want.
