Absolutely incredible from start to finish. Amazing price, and the friendliest, kindest staff I've ever met. Can't recommend this place enough and its sister business the lion and lamb pub nearby.

Dining experience: Absolutely fantastic restaurant, plenty of seating, large menu. Staff were absolutely lovely. Stayed for a Sunday roast and was not disappointed! Highly recommend for a nice relaxing Sunday meal.

Lovely pub and friendly staff, there's a lot of seating outside too, some under cover and some in the open. Great for a stopover in your camping unit too as they have a water tap and waste unit to empty and replenish. Staying overnight in the car park has a ÂŁ10 charge and I believe ÂŁ20 a night if you want to be hooked up to electric as well

Awful stay would not returnHonestly don’t think I’ve ever been so disappointed in a hotel/restaurant we’d booked to go away for my birthday which turned into a surprise engagement. Firstly the entrance to the hotel wasn’t clean there’s an overflowing cigarette bin propping the door open and it isn’t signposted we weren’t sure it was where you enter and we then had to search for staff to check in, once we found staff they weren’t welcoming at all very blunt I feel customer service is a real let down here. Once we checked into the room that was fine we had upgraded to a room with mountain views when in hindsight it overlooked the car park and bins no views at all snd also it offered sky Tv and what we got was 1 sky movies 1 sky sports and the usual free view Chanel’s. There is a neighbouring garden where there yapping dog barks constantly for 2 nights so we didn’t sleep, the bed was uncomfortable and the sheets made me itch. We ordered food the second night we had cheese burger the restaurant offered a limited menu not the one online. The food was terrible I couldn’t eat mine it was chewy and undercooked. Again at breakfast we had the same blunt staff serving us no smiles conversation etc felt very uncomfortable, upon check out we had to search for staff again there a refurbishment going on in the bar there was a lady behind the bar swearing really loudly F-you to another person the whole experience was just terrible I felt bad for my fiancé who arranged this romantic getaway and it hindsight it was a hotel from hell. One last thing the vending machine doesn’t work and takes your money. Honestly book somewhere else.

We chose The Kellbank because it's near Scafell Pike, is dog-friendly and has EV charging. It exceeded my expectations & we really enjoyed our stay here!My bed was very comfy, the staff were friendly & really helpful. There was a good choice of food at breakfast and dinner, and the portion sizes at dinner were very generous. We stayed in a family room with our kids and dog. There was loads of storage space - drawers and hanging; as well as a desk and a comfy chair (which was nice, as the sofa was converted into the kids' bed).I don't usually notice the cleaning standards (unless they're particularly bad), but The Kellbank was *noticeably* clean - even though it's full of muddy customers and dogs! ;-) They keep the ground floor bedrooms dog-friendly and the first floor dog-free, as well as having separate dining areas for with/without dogs, which is great for people with allergies or anxieties about dogs.Really enjoyed our stay here & will definitely visit again! Thanks a lot @TheKellbank !! :-)

If you like beer, comfortable seats or ambiance not the place for you. Like other places in the Village geared up to cater for Sellafield contractors on expenses or Tourists/ food trade. RIP the British pub.

My partner and I popped into the restaurant area of the Kellbank as we wanted a good hearty meal while staying in the area.We arrived at around 12, and the place was mostly quiet with plenty of tables to choose from. I did ask if we needed to ask masks but the bar person said it is now totally voluntary now that lockdown is more or less over with. There's a set menu along with a Specials printout. The menu clearly identified whether it was suitable for vegans, vegetarians and those with various intolerances. There's a grill section (fillets, sirloins, gammon and ribeye, all served with chips, mushrooms and onion rings and priced between ÂŁ19 and ÂŁ29)There's also steak & ale pies, fish and chips, Hunter's chicken, Pigs in blankets and various burgers - all priced at around ÂŁ14-ÂŁ16We opted for two steak and ale pies, which included freshly cut chunky chips, vegetables and gravy. It arrived after about 15 minutes and looked/tasted absolutely gorgeous. And very very filing! For desserts, there's various ice creams, sundaes, sticky toffee puddings, cheesecakes and brownies. We opted for a Banoffee Pavlova and a Triple Chocolate brownie at just under ÂŁ6 each. And again they were delicious and plentiful. For drinks we just stuck to diet colas at ÂŁ1.10 for half-pint glasses. And all told the bill came to a fairly reasonable ÂŁ50, which is probably the going rate for tourist areas like this.Service was very good, with helpful and attentive staff. The room was fairly quiet with the distant sounds of a TV and some other patrons. The room was warm and well lit, seats were comfortable and tables clean and free of any clutter.A very enjoyable couple of hours.
