Average Food, good portion size. You will need to come to the bar to order your food. The view of this restaurant was exceptional, we were lucky to sit by the window to have the Windermere lake view, truly amazing.

Double check the prices! I ordered two steak pie and chips as per the menu at £12.95 each. I was actually charged £14.95 each and when I questioned it, after eating the food and realising it seemed expensive… I was told there was a mis-print on the menus that are on tables but I wasn’t told this until I raised it, no mention of reimbursement since they were advertising incorrectly. Surely you should charge the prices you’re advertising? It is a shame however because the food was actually decent but certainly not £15 a plate decent, you’re paying for the view instead of the food/service. After complaining a second time the manager (I assume) reluctantly gave me back the difference with some attitude. Why not just pull all the menu’s and edit them with a pen? Don’t think we’ll be returning.

Amazing customer service. One of the best hot chocolates we've ever had. The food is fresh and will visit again when we're back in Windermere.Incredible views and spacious seating, also the background music was lovely, complimented the scenary. Lunch followed by a brisk walk in cockshott.Credit to the staff and owner!Seen some poor reviews but was not our experience. Apparently new staff so son't be put off by previous comments

Terrible food, more grease in the batter than geese out side the restaurant. Lovely view just not when I looked at my plate.

Wont be returning.Four of us arrived for food late afternoon and quickly ordered hot sandwiches.Long story short after 50 minutes of waiting and no food arriving two of our party walked out to return to the car as our parking was about to expire. Two meals arrived and my husband wrapped them in a serviette and left whilst i waited for ours. 1 hour of no food and i also walked out, it was time to drive home. During all our enquiries of the food, no apology, no offer of a refund, all they could say was 'well you should have been informed there was a delay with food when you ordered'. ÂŁ50 well spent.

Came here for a meal with my fiancé. Ordered the fish platter to share for £18.95 which read local fish andinstead I was brought tinned anchovies that tasted of vinegar.whatever wasn't tinned definitely wasn't fresh, four slices on toast. Really not good enough for the price. A real shame because the view was gorgeous. When I addressed the staff to let them know I wasn't pleased with food I was met with eye rolls and extremely rude attitude who from one particular waitress who was also rude to another customer whilst waiting for her colleague to put the refund though. The colleague was more accommodating and offered a refund but overall really unpleasant experience. Would not recommend unless you want, at best mediocre food with a poor attitude from staff
