Bar meal on Friday evening was excellent. Try their Beef Brisket burger for a first class main. Ales are their own brews too, and nicely kept.

·

Beautiful food! Lots to choose from. Dog friendly and very nice relaxed atmosphere. Be sure to try their home brewed ales also, they are great! 10/10

Great location, beer and breakfast. What more could you want? The location was excellent for walks. Good micro brewery with excellent beers. Breakfast was one of the best Iv had in a pub, the mushrooms were great. Rooms are a bit dated and a bit noisy but all quite when the pub shuts.

·

Cosy pub with excellent food - decent selection of veggie/vegan options, too. Their own microbrewery beers and ales are available on tap. Staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome. Recommend booking on busy weekends.

Such a friendly and cute country pub. The staff were all so friendly and the pub wasn’t too busy despite being 15:00 on Easter Sunday! The Beef Brisket roast dinner was incredible, delicious and large portion size.

·

Excellent customer service, sympathetic to us being unable to attend the property after a traumatic experience of car vandalism and burglary with the car stuck in the garage and no courtesy car available. Kind enough to offer a full refund in view of the situation despite being in the non-refundable period on Booking.com. Will certainly try to stay here in future when able to travel again.

A wonderful pub and accommodation set in the heart of Wasdale. Surrounded by mountains and a lovely small village. The pub has its own brewery and serves its own beer and gin. The food is excellent and big portions. We booked using booking.com and got a very good deal. The owners are great to talk to and you can ask to have a tour. Would recommend a stay here. Great base for walking and dogs and muddy boots welcome.

Stayed here recently and had a great holiday! The owners and bar staff were welcoming and friendly, and the pub was lovely and cosy. Food was delicious however portions were a bit too large.

Stayed at the Strands for 3 nights in October and loved it! Thanks very much to Lesley and her friendly team who were all brilliant. Had a lovely comfy and warm room. Breakfasts were superb. Other meals served over at the Screes were hearty and delicious and included some great vegan choices. Oh, and the home brewed beers are gorgeous! That is all on top of breathtaking local views and walks. Simply a superbly run and wonderful country pub in a perfect setting!
