Alston House in Eden

Was in the hotel today and the service was perfect. The staff are really friendly and the owner Carol is very helpful and nothing is a bother. Would deffo recommend to anyone visiting the area to call in here for some food and drink.

We had a lovely relaxing Sunday lunch here and the food was excellent. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. Would recommend and definitely return.

lamb shoulder was best meal I’ve had in years. After a whole day out on the fells that was just what I needed - friendly staff kindly squeezed me in even though no booking, which I’m so thankful for. Nice beer and the grounds looked lovely, didn’t stay so can’t say anything more

Lovely place - 17 of us ate and really enjoyed it. Very family friendly and great food.

Very pleasant stay whilst cycling the coast to coast route.The staff were very helpful. They looked after our bikes, filled our water bottles etc…The room was nice, it had a good shower, chocolate biscuits and a cafetière.

I only stayed here for 1 night for work. The lady owner greeted me on arrival and took me to the room whilst going through what's on offer at the b&b. Owner was really nice and welcoming. The room was a good size for what I needed very clean. As it is an old building there is low ceiling but it adds to the charm and character of being in a rural village. The beds were comfortable and there is extra pillows and duvets if you need them. I didn't eat here so cannot comment on the food but I would recommend this b&b to anyone staying in the area

I stayed here whilst on the coast to coast cycle route last week. After a long day the room was lovely, great shower, comfy beds for a good night's sleep and even though I was on the front the road is very quiet. I ate in the restaurant and the food was delicious, home made profiteroles were the best I've ever had. A nice beer selection as well. The owners were very nice people and made a nice breakfast for my next long day of cycling. I'll be back here again.
