Beckside Bar in Eden

Terrible service.After ordering at the same time as my group I waited 20 minutes longer for my fish and chips (3 others in the group also got this). After 20 minutes I asked how long it would be until it came out and was told a few minutes.After a few minutes a plate arrived at my table with a meal that looked completely different than the others that had been eaten. I tried the fish and it was revolting. I brought this to the attention of the staff and they argued that it was correct, but upon speaking to the chef he informed me it was gluten free. As this wasn’t what I ordered I was offered a new one to be cooked. This took a further 40 minutes…During this time another member of the group had spent 20 minutes waiting on his desert. However everyone else on the table had received theirs (which was the same dessert). Eventually my fish and chips came, which was average.Would not recommend this place.

The food is amazing and the staff are really friendly.

Unwelcoming to walk-ins so cannot recommend - they refused our food order at the bar, since we weren't hotel residents. We went to the Traveller's Rest instead - better atmosphere, more welcoming, nice meal.

A very popular place. £15.99 for a burger and chips. The burger was nice, but was only served with six chunky chips and a table spoon of coleslaw. Draught selection includes Madri, Aspall, Staropramen, Atlantic Ale.

The worst pizza I have ever had in my life. Came here after a hike looking for a bite to eat. Firstly, they messed up our order and didn’t bring the right pizza for one of us. (No discount or refund offered). Two of our pizzas had the weirdest cheese on it (vegan possibly? - it was extremely goopy and an odd texture) and the other two pizzas had regular cheese. (Btw we all ordered the same pizza). The cooks said it was their first day and no one had told them what to do. Do not recommend.

This is the most expensive pub in Glenridding by far. £5.65 for a pint of Guinness, Madhri £5.60 etc is just taking the mick. Go up to Travellers Rest, far better.

Popped in for a takeaway pizza after a long day up Helvellyn. Over 45 minute wait for 2 takeaway pizzas (guy told me it would be 10-15 mins)! People who arrived well after me even got served. Would've got a refund and left had I not been ravenous. No updates while I waited, no apology. Wouldn't recommend if you're in a hurry. The words p*ss up in a brewery come to mind. Then, get back to the car....no basil Pesto on one of the pizzas. Euuugghh.

we visited the beckside bar twice during our stay, the food was outstanding especially the pizza. staff where very friendly and always happy to help.

Scanned QR code on outside tables - but this showed no food available?Confusion resolved by waiter, who took order.Food excellent although the prices have risen considerably!Dog friendly so highly recommended.

Part of The Glenridding Hotel, and slightly lacking in identity. Food was usual 'pub' style, albeit a bit pricey. Bar staff very friendly and helpful, but kitchen staff, just 'plonked' food down with no service. I had Halloumi Burger, cheese not heated properly & bun dry. Others in my group had fish n chips which was ok, although other pubs serve better. Desserts were good, but pricey. I've posted a few photos of the complex, as other parts look better & will try again.
