Dog & Gun Inn in Eden

I’ve been going to the Dog & Gun for over 20 years, not a regular just maybe once a year. In all those years it hasn’t disappointed once.My latest visit (April 2022) was no different. I hate the Beef and Stilton pie served with chips and mushy peas together with a pint of landlord, absolutely outstanding.What you’ll get at the Dog and Gun is classic pub grub done exceptionally together with a fantastic pint.It saddens me that there ain’t more places like the Dog and Gun. A truly exceptional pub that’s stood the test of time.

Stopped here for a drink on the way home from a trip to the railway.Lovely views, the manager went to the trouble of finding me a soft drink I asked for but they didn't have in the fridge which I appreciated.What I'm still getting over though, is the price of one flavoured tonic water and a pint of fizzy drink - £7.50. I've been to two other pubs in the past week whilst visiting the area and both cost a lot less for the same drinks.

Best pork belly in the world. Great pub. Great food. Proper pub . Fantastic. Definitely coming back here !!

This has become a firm favourite over the last few years. It is our go to place. Service is always exemplary. Food is always plentiful and delicious at a fair price.

Ate here for the first time. As it came recommended. The service was lovely. The staff were really friendly. The Sunday roast basic and veg overcooked

Visited the Dog and Gun for a friend's birthday. We had a mixed group of Vegans, Vegetarians and Meat eaters. Do not go with you are Vegan or Vegetarian. Choice is limited and food poor. We had stuffed peppers that were raw, with tastless bland undercooked rice and not worth the £14 pounds. Service was also poor, drinks missing from the order, wrong total on the bill and we had to ask 3 times for water for the table. Would give zero stars if possible.

Fabulous. The food was divine, the choice of real ales great and the atmosphere as good as it’s always been. Thoroughly recommended. I would also suggest asking for a Yorkshire Pudding regardless of which main course you choose!

Went here for an early evening meal. The pub is very smart inside with an interesting glass cover over an old well and we were made very welcome. The menu seems to cater for a variety of tastes and there is a specials board. The done was excellent and I like the little touch no top of my coffee at the end. Can highly recommend.

We absolutely Love it everytime we go, warm atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food. The only thing that beats the food is the setting which is out of this world especially when you get to see the sun setting.

Great country pub with scenic views over a windy landscape. Ideal for walkers. A warm welcome, friendly staff and great food. Their signature dish, Lamb Henry is excellent, very tasty and the lamb just falls of the bone. Our third visit and we will be back again!
