We have just stayed here for 4 nights. What a great place to stay for a little getaway. Lovely clean room with a stunning view and wonderful friendly service. Lovely home cooked food and great selection of drinks. Great location for some amazing fell walks.

While out hiking, we stumbled across this pub so it would have been rude not to pop in for a drink and a bite to eat. Tasty food and pleasant staff who could ask for more. And dog friendly as well.

Really lovely location, nice staff. Place is a bit dated and drab which to be honest was fine. But if you're coming for a Sunday roast, then stay away. Microwaved dry cardboard-tasting roast which cost us £120 for 4people and a baby! So so bad and super expensive!

Had lunch for four, table reserved prior to visit. Service staff and meal was top notch. Interesting rural location with a homely welcoming feel.

First visit to this lovely country pub. Good beer, the lunchtime sandwiches and cakes seemed to be very popular. Known by many rail enthusiasts as its only a few miles from Kirkby Stephen station and the Settle & Carlisle line.

This is a great find. We live kinda locally, and I'll definitely be making the 30min drive to here again. Yes it's a little tired and dated, but they've made the most of this. Great atmosphere, interesting interior, things to keep the wife and kids amused. Outside space is awesome. Views are great. Food is well worth the price. Go there...3 months later, just been back for a second visit. Every bit as good as the first visit. Perhaps better! So accommodating. Great service. Prompt to the table. Every meal a good one for a table of 6. We have a child with allergies, he got to build his own meal. Toys for the kids and so much memorabilia. This place is great?..Back again in 2022. Change of management, and a bit of a refresh without losing any of their individuality. Service better yet. Very accommodating to fussy eaters and know their product well...Go there.

The first time we visited the Fat lamb was for an overnight stay back around 1997.There were Lamas at the rear.It was a quirky and homely place then and I’m glad to see it hasn’t changed much since then.We had Sunday lunch there yesterday and it was a pleasant afternoon.I have no doubt that we will be doing it again soon, perhaps when the Tempest has calmed.

As someone who lives in a city the Fat Lamb is set in beautiful countryside. It was fantastic to look out at it from our room.I thoroughly enjoyed the genuine home cooked food. I made my way through the menu, the pies were a particular favourite. Generous and hearty portions.Breakfast a notch below par in comparison to the evening meals. The rooms were definitely tired and very dated. The floors creaked and rattled the cupboard door every time I moved in bed. Noise travelled easily throughout the thins walls. The most important part though was that the rooms were clean and the showers were very hot.I would stay another night if I was passing through the area on a driving holiday.

We visited The Fat Lamb over the weekend, after a snowy two hour walk, to warm up and grab a bite. We were warmly welcomed into the bar with our Welsh collie and sat by the fire which was nicely tended to throughout our visit!Service was warm, attentive and speedy and when we decided to eat, our food turned up piping hot within ten minutes of ordering! A good variety on the menu too with vegan and vegetarian options which is a bonus for us! The vegetarian pie and mushroom and red pepper stroganoff were a highlight! Well worth a visit!

Visited the Fat Lamb on an evening. The food choice was fairly varied, being mostly general pub grub. Personally thought the food was good but not the cheapest. The place is a bit quirky inside with the classic car theme running throughout. Would definitely visit again.
