Had a lovely steak pie with frozen chips. Basically a bowl of gravy with a pastry top. Nice toilets though

Good tasty food with very generous portions in a very modern atmosphere. This place could not be described as a traditional style pub. Service reasonably efficient and waiting times show that it isn't a fast food place although not excessive. Prices are reasonable for what you get.

Visited a few years back and the food was great.. unfortunately this time it was at the other end of the scale, we ordered Cajun chicken Baguette and a lasagna, the Baguette came out and it was totally stale and when the lasagna came out it looked like a dog's dinner, all mixed up and not layered pasta infact we didn't even see any pasta, I can only assume it was the last portion of what they had left and it was scraped into the bowl.. so onto the service : I couldn't fault the bar staff they changed the lasagna to something that looked edible, Cumberland sausage which was fairly good and refunded me for the Baguette they then offered us complementary desserts we had 2 x chocolate brownies 1st portion was spot on as it should be but the second portion was terrible.. seriously undercooked and was basically chocolate sauce / cake mix.. shame staff really good food this time was a let down.

Walking through Penrith and needed a quick meal before our journey home. I Googled this pub as I am fussy about my food. Reviews were good and so we ordered the lighter apetite meal. The fish and chips (£5.50) was beautiful, I can't fault it. Lovely friendly staff too. Oh, beer was good too 😂 thankyou General Wolfe. We'll definitely be back.

Had a lunch with my girly friends and decided to go here. We all asked for the smaller meals, fish and chips and lasagne. It was all really nice. And if they were smaller meals, good job we didnt order full size ones, coz we were stuffed!

Called in for a late lunch following a shopping trip. Absolutely fantastic service from the staff, even bringing a bowl of water for our thirsty pooch. Great food at reasonable prices, clean facilities, thoroughly recommended.

Good food and service. Lovely pub and much bigger than it seems. My daughter was highly entertained by the new pool table (fully supervised of course)

Called here for evening meal whilst doing the C2C bike ride. Thoroughly enjoyable experience, friendly staff, decent menu with fresh, home-cooked food etc. and good beer :-)

Six of us at lunch time on Saturday 6th April. Staff quickly noticed we noticed a bigger table and put two tables together before us before we had even ordered drinks. Food was good portions, good taste, good value. Staff friendly, did not see the ghost.
