Great variety of cakes, I recommend sitting outside by the river for the Pooley Bridge experience! Good stop for hiking if you are nearby.

The food here is fantastic. They serve breakfast all day. The ingredients are all top quality and plenty of them. If you like a hot chocolate, this is the place for you. Although we didn't have afternoon tea, it is well worth booking in advance as it is amazing.. Definitely be back.

Lovely teashop by the bridge and water. Lovely views plenty of ducks. Nice selection of cakes and all diets catered for. Careful if you sit outside, the wind swept up our menu.

Aw what a find! 😍 Top rated in Pooley Bridge and easy to see why.Location? Perfect. Right across the road from the bus stop for one. Situated by the river, with indoor and outdoor seating making the most of the views.Staff? Super friendly. And patient!!!!!Prices? Very reasonable. Approx £21 total.Food? Superb!! Could've easily picked several options from their menu, it all looked and sounded so good! We both went for today's special soup - potato and leek with crusty roll. I spied scones with clotted cream on the menu just as our server was about to leave and ordered one of those too 😅Coffee? Regular was actually rather large. Oat milk also available. Very nice.Overall a very pleasant experience and would certainly recommend. Well worth a stop on your way through town. Thank you ☺️

Nice place, beautiful surroundings , great menu..... but avoid the butter. Tastes like poison. When I questioned whether it was off , I was told it was fine and it's just the way it's made, and that others have questioned It!! No it was Off!! Butter is Butter!!!

Lovely cafe superbly located on the edge if Ullswater and river Eamont. It has indoor and outdoor seating, efficient service and great food. We had eggs on sourdough , avocado with poached eggs on sourdough and a sweet potato burger with fries. There is a good selection of food. Portions are generous and views of the lake are stunning. It us popular amongst tourists

We were here for a quick lunch - service was quick and friendly with a nice lake setting. We might have ordered the wrong dishes but generally the food here was average (it looks better than it tastes!).

Fast and super friendly service. The weather was very wet when we visited but that didn't dampen the spirits of the staff. We were lucky enough to get a table inside. Dogs are more than welcome inside and out. The menu has a good selection of breakfast and lunch items as well as cakes and afternoon tea. The scone and traybake portions are very generous. Food to take away is available also. I will definitely return.

We had gluten free afternoon tea at Granny Dowbekins yesterday. I had to book at least 48 hours in advance.Sandwiches were tasty and we especially loved the tuna. There were probably too much quiche though. The Victoria sponge, lemon poppy seed muffin, and banana walnut slice were light and fluffy. The buttercreams were not too sweet. The scone was nice but was unfortunately too crumbly/dry. It was disintegrating as we tried to put clotted cream or jam.Overall, I still think it was good value for money.

Excellent service. All the staff were an absolute delight. Everyone clearly had a role and was excellent at it, it was so well run. The food was delicious and so quick to arrive despite been quite busy. Dog friendly, lovely location. Priced well and well worth the money. Everything in a lovely condition. Can't wait to come again.
